I stopped yesterday myself.

Finally came to the relaisation of accepting what's lost is lost and the gambling industry doesn't owe me anything , nor will I make any money back, only spiral out of control even more!

Make this the first day of the rest of your life and keep a diary of it.

I discovered this site yesterday and really think it will be my turning point

Well done on finding the courage to admit that you have a problem- I gambled for around 10 years and in the last 2 my gambling got worse. This was mainly due to me carrying on win or lose until there was nothing left.

main thing to realise is that money is gone- forget it you will not get it back through chasing and even if you did win a lot of money it will eventually be handed back along with more money.

That sickening feeling of self loathing is what made me take a good look at what I was doing as it did start to affect my family. They couldnt understand why I was having these mood swings and I hated myself even more for putting gambling above all else.

Anyway the point is- is you stop now you will see how much better everything gets. Even though you might be left with financial problems - they can be sorted with time.

I have stopped now for 29 days and each day gets easier and also better. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing. This forum has been amazing and it will help you through when times get tough.
