Hi Mr B, 9 days gamble free for me. I feel as though I've suddenly awakened from the nightmare of online slots. No amount of analysis will change the fact that I allowed myself to be drawn into the mesmerising play of flashing lights. What I can now do is focus on my recovery. I did it before with arcade slots, clean for 15/20 years so I know I can do it again. I'm not going to dwell on money drained away over the last year but instead concentrate on the start of a new era. It's around 1 year since I was captivated by online slots and started living a lie from my OH. This is a new beginning as I know how wonderful being gamble free can be and that's the place I need to strive to get to again. Keep being positive everyone, one day at a time. Thanks to everyone for their words of support and encouragement to help keep us all going. This forum is a life saver.

Hi everyone - I am away for the weekend but wanted to be with you all to encourage you to keep marching on. Glad you are back Mo and congratulations to anyone achieving a milestone this week. Good things take effort and a gamble free life is so worth putting the effort into! To anyone who is struggling - don't give up, put every block in place, keep posting and drawing strength from your fellow soldiers - you can do it! Keep your life music high & treasure your recovery 🙂 Love Mama B xx

Thanks Bornagain for letting everyone know. I can confirm Mr B has just about walked his legs off this last week with very early starts & long days. Hopefully he will soon be back posting again with his usual enthusiasm.
Well done Bornagain for withstanding the temptations of payday and staying strong! You are doing great. Always a vulnerable time. Stay strong everyone 🙂 Mama B xx
Hi all,
Checking in on day 13. Had a positive week with urges becoming less frequent. Enjoying my spare time much more delving into hobbies I haven't done in a long time. A long way to go but a good start.
Hope you all had a positive week. Stay strong.
Many thanks,
Andy

Morning all ~ checking in for what will be 115 days Gamble Free on Sunday according to my calculations, although it does get harder to keep track as the week and months pass!
Still getting over a bout of man flu [lost my hearing in left ear at one point ~ very scary] and although feeling low and had plenty of opportunities, refrained from even giving gambling a moments thought!
Hope Mr B enjoyed the Ryder Cup [sure he did] and recovers from the evenings celebrations, well done Europe!!
I don't celebrate milestone days as such, just give myself a pat on the back, mention it to the OH and look forward to the next one. Mainly looking forward to Feb when I will have finally paid back the money I lost into the joint house account and can look forward to saving up for a personal treat to celebrate the 1 year milestone ~ not sure what yet but nothing too ostentatious!
Still struggle some days but thoughts quickly dispersed by just getting on with everything else in life [mainly housework & decorating :)].
Keep marching resolute everyone. I am sure those missing will re-surface sometime soon, and to anyone struggling to cope or keep on marching forward, stay resolute, stay calm, focus on the positives of NOT gambling, as you can't win unless you refrain from gambling!#
Have a great week everyone and enjoy the autumn colours!! regards, Cliff
