Hi Mr B, it's Mo here, shamefaced that the minute after I asked to rejoin the challenge I had the worst relapse ever. I'm clean for 6 days and don't feel worthy of being part of the challenge until I can prove I can abstain. I am committed to being gamble free from now til xmas and wanted your advice as to whether you want me to wait til xmas to rejoin the challenge or if you've got it in your heart to give me a chance to prove to everyone that I can be a positive member of the group. This time I have more blocks in place and am fully committed to posting here to confirm I'm gamble free each week. I commend you for the work you are putting into helping fellow CG's. The posts from other members have been inspirational.

Hi all soldiers, checking in Day 115 on Sat PM. Still Gamble Free by choice, abstaining one day at a time! Been suffering from man flu this week, which is a great cure for any gambling thoughts folks as just can't function or think! Not that I would have gambled and its not something I would recommend as a block for gambling although it does work!!

Seriously, thanks again to Mr B for a great round up of the week and I am sure that by 31/12 we will see some amazing stats!

I am also sure that wounded or MIA soldiers will resurface safe and sound and will start to march again. The thing about relapses is the fact that one feels so guilty and carry a larger sense of failure [even if you 'won'] that its difficult to get back in the saddle and get riding to abstention again.

But you have to "fall of the horse" quite a few times and re-mount to be a good rider, and any fall [relapse] is exactly the same - it happens often in this addictive world of ours. So, just, pick yourself up, dust yourself down and start all over again [as the song goes]! But its true and you'll be stronger and better focused on your reasons and triggers.

So safe riding and look forward to seeing all soldiers here again soon. And Mr B, please don't take it too personally if we lose a few on the way, its the nature of this beast- and it's not your or anyone else's fault. If everyone could give up when they just wanted too, we wouldn't have this forum!

But we are all 'adults' and we make our own choices, for whatever reasons [even if those choices are addiction disease driven] and we cope and manage in our own ways with our own problems!!

Well done to all those marching free and welcome back those that fell out of the saddle, great to see you getting back on, and don't beat yourselves up ~ itsh happens!!

Cheers all and have a great weekend, Cliff

A late-ish check-in for me - sorry Mr B, but that old life music is still belting out. Many thanks for the update and the mention of my 30 weeks coming up - couldn't have done it without you and the Challenge!

Hope the dust is settling north of the border now and that you've stopped ducking those low-flying haggises.

Best wishes to all, and be of good cheer those comrades who have faltered a bit - only a skirmish lost in the long march to victory.

Joanna

Checking in day 75. Seems surreal saying that as it feels about five minutes since my last bet. Feeling purposeful and up for the fight đŸ™‚

Hi Fellow Soldiers

Checking in after another gamble free week which has not been great with feeling of self-pity, worthlessness etc. Feelings I would normally numb with gambling but haven't. Getting back to normal now, made even better with the knowledge that I am still fighting the battle along side you all.

Keep on marching.
