Hi all hope I am still able to try and get on track with the 2015 challenge I am heartbreakingly back on day 4 as I messed up last week and was weak after giving myself a good hiding I am determined I can do this I added more safeguards to every comp in house there's a ga meeting on Friday which I'm intending on attending, it's been a rough week attending a meeting where a very close friend was sacked due to illness and seeing /watching her strength when theres nothing she can do about her life at the moment and knowing most of my problems are brought on by my very self made me see it was time to wake up and smell the coffee I can keep on this vile roundabout (which makes me sick) or abstain and maintain my choice is the second I'm finally choosing to live and fight November is not to far away (I can be debt free by then) and then I can enjoy my money on spoiling my lads so if ul have me I'd like to apologise and ask for your help in doing this x
Hi I'm Dan, 32 and my weakness is the horses, I joined gamcare yesterday and it's been a day since I last had a bet, I have two great kids and a wonderful wife but when I'm working away during the week it gets really tough for me to stop the urge to have a bet, gambling has been part of my life since playing the fruit machines in my local arcade at the age of 16 so it's time to stop, and I'm hoping with the help and support of you guys in here and things like this challenge It will ease me along the way. Look forward to meeting some of you
Dan
Hi Glads dad checking in
. I've been having trouble logging in- every time..so I've pulled out and will rejoin with the same name -- I seem not able to log in at all very easily, so I will create a new login with the same name. I hope this makes sense.
Have a great week
Checking in on day five - full of flu type symptoms so no desire to do anything but sleep and rest. Weekends are my weak area though. Right now I feel so sorry for myself I can't imagine ever being tempted again ........but that's what I said last week :-/
Just caught up on reading latest posts on here and checking in at nine weeks. Things have been relatively easy this week and it really helps when there's lots going on in other aspects of life. The busier I am the less I think of gambling. Pay day is here and no urges to waste any money. Too many debts to pay off and too many good things to save for but feels good to have some money each month for day to day things.
Well done those checking in this week and those who've slipped try to put it behind you and get back motivation from the site and this challenge.
Seems a long time since boxing day when I stopped 🙂

Whatisthis you have been added to the front page and checked in. Bazzer29 in order to be added to the challenge you need to make another post before midnight on Saturday.
tt1980 try to learn what made you slip and act on it to prevent it happening again, the more barriers you can put up the better. I'm glad youve found your way back here.
Its going to be a tough few days for some of us, make sure you keep busy and keep that life music high. Get checked in safely, there are way too many missing soldiers at present!
Hi everyone, checking in for another GF week. Personal milestone this weekend for myself and many others on here - 2 months of 2015 GF......small steps, one day at a time and support on here will help us month by month get through 2015 GF.
Phil, thanks for another great update. Urges come upon us unaware and by surprise and during 2014 I gave into them many a time BUT not this year POSITIVE THINKING, my head's in a more positive place (which is surprising if you all knew the day to day challenges I am faced with due to health issues). It's about being in the right frame of mind and this year I'm determined to succeed in one thing that I have control over in my life and that is whether or not to gamble and I am choosing NOT to gamble, NOT to give into urges.
Keep going everyone.
Mo
Hi Bornagain I would love to be part of this challenge, shall I just check in daily from now on?
Just logging in and seeing I've had two gamble free days is a lift in itself, so glad I took the steps to admit my problem and join
Good post Mo, theres a large number of us clean from the start of the challenge and its brilliant to see the second month about to pass by.
Bazzer29 I will now add you to the front page and check you in. You can post as many times as you like, some post a few times a week, some just post once a week. As long as you do a weekly check in post you will remain in the challenge. Take some time to read through the challenge so far to get to grips with it and maybe some of the posts will be helpful.
Bornagain thankyou
Checking in.. 58 days GF..
Hi, Checking in today for a personal best of 12 days of freedom.. Still a bit worried about another payday tomorrow but have never felt so strong and determined... Good Weekend to all...
Checking in 1 day short of 10 weeks GF.
Had vivid dreams of gambling a few nights ago and woke up thinking I had broken. Once realising it was a dream very relieved but made my truly appreciate my brain is hard wired to gamble. I think I've built my defences to a point where I can cope and manage urges on a day to day basis whereas my sub conscious is a different story. That pilot light isn't going to be turned off for the rest of my days, and I've always got be to on my guard.
This forum coupled with GA has got me to this point and life gets better day by day.
Have a good week fellow soliders. Andy
