Just at home and thought I would check in, Better life i get those kind of dreams most nights, it really is messed up but I'm really positive at the moment, only been a couple of days GF but I'm buzzing my with myself as I've had cravings and urges today to download the racing post app but I've put my phone down and just focused on playing with the family etc, had a good laugh with the wife tonight and I'm feeling good, take care people
Good work Bazzer and that's a great start. The further you move away from your last bet the easier it is becomes to manage those urges / feelings. Just need to keep those raw memories of how bad life can be with gambling fresh rather than letting your brain fantasize about the "winning" bets. Good luck and life just gets better from here!
Checking in day 37
Cheking in day 65.
Payday today but no urges. Thats an unusual thing in itself as payday was always the day I would find myself sat at a FOBT for hours on end.
Keep on the right path soldiers. Why put yourself through all the stress that comes with compulsive gambling.
Bornagain, so does the checking in thing work by just logging in or do I post everyday to check in or this there a check in box? im not really sure how it works but hopefully it will :). Well done for your hard work this will help alot of people.
Checking in on day 29 gamble free.
A rollercoaster ride of a week with moods, feeling and emotions. Still I've resisted so that's all good.
Stay strong everyone and remember together we can do it
Checking in, nearly reached the 50 milestone! 44 days GF for me
Checking in still gambling free. Pleased to report it was payday yesterday....meaning for the first time in what seems like forever I made it to the end of the month without spending a single penny of my wage on gambling. And I feel pretty d**n pleased about it. Paid a chunk off the credit card...April and that's clear. Resaved some savings (and didn't need to dip back into them)...December and I should be back to where I started. And still had £15 left over. Gambling wise, it's been a good month
Checking in. Day 41. Still no room for complacency.
Keep up the great work everyone.
H-Hour + 10 (days)
Committed to reaching 50 days that's the first benchmark goal. One day at a time. Many thanks Phil for the piece on urges and combating them!
I am still committed and this month even after my slip I will clear my overdraft (one gambling debt down) and go steady forward one day at a time.
All the best all, have a very good weekend and abstain + maintain!

Hi all,
Checking in and doing fine still. I've been too busy with work and new hobbies to even think about gambling. I've had the occasional thought that a cheeky £20 football acca wouldn't do any harm but I've managed to fight it off so far!
Good luck all. Keep strong and keep that life music playing loudly!! If you've not read the post about life music then you really should. It helps put everything into perspective and is the most powerful thing I have read on here by a long way!!
Honk
Hows it going guys, still gamble free for me even after payday!
Can't say i didn't have the urge yesterday but resisted making the fateful trip into the bookies, i had to pass time waitin on a well known opticians to open and my brain was screaming at me to just wait in the bookies but i managed to resist going in. Finished work and seen an advert for the euro lottery and again the thoughts returned saying just put a line on, on you go, only one......but again i just rode out the gambling thoughts and i wake up today gamble free!
Just a quick post to say I will update the front page tonight as im out at the football all day today. Hope everyone's having a good weekend and keep those check ins coming!
70 days clean today. Marching forward. Never going back to Day 1 again.
checking in for the week, really feeling strong and determined to make this last. Know it might be tough in a couple of weeks when Cheltenham is on but hopefully all the good work will pay off from the previous couple of months.
Checking in Day 59, work getting on my nerves, missus getting on my nerves, ideal excuses for burying myself in gambling. Ain`t gonna give in, I`ve come too far. Have a good weekend everyone.
Affected by gambling?
