Day 112
Checking in and feeling stronger and more positive than ever in my recovery.
I have urges but have so far been able to get through these.

Morning troops, as we are missing so many check ins I'm going to do the update when I finish work tonight. So still time to check in for our missing troops to be included in this weeks update!
So sorry Phil, I'm one of them.
Still gambling free for me x
Sorry i forgot to check in, GF on day 11 for me!
Hi, sorry forgot to check in last night. 14 days GF
Ah man I can never check in on time... Day 29! No urges
Apologies for being late again. Meant to check in yesterday but finished work late and went to a party immediately afterwards.
GF still with absolutely zero interest in trying to win anything back. I've really committed myself to work which has helped, also going to allow me to get my debts repaid quicker!
The light at the end of the tunnel is a little brighter every day!

Apologies for the very late check in. Was distracted by leaving my job and then arriving in France for a holiday. Don't know how much signal I will get this week as I am skiing, so I may miss next weeks check in, but certainly won't be gambling!
Sorry for such a late check in been so busy this past week simply enjoying life 🙂
Will read all the posts I missed later and big congratulations to everyone that completed milestones this week

Day 4 GF, really happy I didn't feel the urge to with all the fixtures yesterday. Off to Wembley today to watch Bristol City win the JPT. Should keep me occupied, I feel a lot better still a long way to go to get debt free. Hopefully I won't fall back in to the gambling when I feel there's nothing else to turn to. Day by day.
well done city
actually feel sorry for walsall I kept gamble free and enjoyed watching without a bet
keep at it everyone
Challenge Update Week 12
Intro
It’s been a quiet week on here, clearly this challenge is working as so many are checking in week by week. However you can use it as more than just a place to check in once a week. Don’t be afraid to say how you are feeling or give another soldier some advice. Together we are strong and together we can help each other make further progress in our recovery. We are heading into another tricky time as payday is looming. Don’t be afraid to post how you are feeling or ask others for some help. There will be slips along the way, ask yourself am I doing all I can to ensure I won’t be the one that slips this month! Are your barriers strong enough, have you got a little lax, if so then strengthen the barriers and use this great site to help. Keep your life music high troops!
So we head into the last part of March and we do so with 63 active troops and sadly 7 who missed check in. There is a real hard core on here who are checking in every week which is brilliant to see and I believe most of you will see this out till the end of the year. We are seeing the missed check ins are mostly from new soldiers who like the idea of the challenge but slip away after a week or two. This is frustrating for me as I spent time signing them up, but I would never turn anyone away. It’s great we have 63 active soldiers but if we hit the 100 then I would be thrilled. To think that this challenge can help someone get their lives back on track makes it well worth being part of. It’s certainly helped me.
Missing Soldiers
LEST-WE-FORGET, mba, Bazzer29, mjb4000, Albion100, jw1976 and azsingh didn’t check in this week. I hope you are all gamble free and you are welcome back here. Remember we have a telephone list available to help anyone who needs to talk to a fellow soldier, you can get it by emailing me on [email protected] you can also use the Gamcare chatrooms, especially on a Wednesday night as that’s when a few troops chat led by Sergeant Triangle!
One Year Club
Huge congratulations to delboygolf who reached a full year gamble free on Friday. Steve has done so well and I was hoping to include his post on this weeks update, however Steve just did a normal check in today. So Steve can you please email me as I would like to ask you a few questions for next weeks update.

Summing Up
It’s been a quiet week, please utilise this challenge as best you can and encourage and help along your fellow soldiers, especially the newer troops. This has been a shorter than usual update, I’ve had a promotion in work and the extra work has taken it out of me. However I will have more time next weekend so I will be able to put more into the update.
Please be safe this week, stay strong, don’t let the payday blues strike you. Fight the urges and keep your life music high! Have a great week troops.
Phil
Was now going to sleep but couldn't before reading the update, it really is something I look forward to and this challenge really does keep me going. Thanks for running it, the time it takes is more than most imagine so fair play to you, your helping so many and you should be proud of yourself for that. I'm gonna stop rambling now and sleep as I'm tired, been a long week. Anyway thanks for the challenge it's got me this far and I don't plan on stopping!
