Yes that’s what I always think too! If I could just stop and stay stopped the debt would eventually be gone. My trouble is I keep going back to it every week or too and once I start I can’t stop putting money in the slots until I’ve nothing left in the current account . I know I’ll never win through gambling but it’s the odd time u come home with a few hundred win and it fuels the fire. It’s like a friend you view with rose tinted spectacles . Anyway I’m determined to stay stopped until Boxing Day for definite

Hi boxingday,

Whilst I’m not ignoring my debt (it’s £36k), I’m solely focused on not gambling. That’s it.

It will take me close to 4 years to clear that debt, but I’ll only do it by quitting for good.

Hi K2 and others posting .

I’m trying not to focus on the debt as I think this has always been my downfall ( I’m always calculating ways to pay it off and it never works out that way !)

Anyway I’m here with one week under my belt and it terms of my personal goal I set to make it to Boxing Day gamble free I’ve just done 7 days out of the 77 required days ! Feels good and I’m akrrady feeling better off financially in a day to day basis as well as mentally better about things , I know from past experience it usually takes around a week for me to recover mentally from a big gambling binge and that’s true this time around. Feeling optimistic for Christmas and the coming months to steer clear of the slots.

Hi Anon, would be grateful if I could join this challenge, gamble free since 14/10, but I’m a gambling J****E, turned me into a thief, cheat & a liar, need to turn my life around before it’s too late.

Great to see more names joining. Unfortunately I have been gambling which is the reason I haven't been on here, I felt guilty because of this I am unfortunately going to stop running this challenge. I hope you all carry on without me and I wish you all the best and I'm sorry for letting you aswell as myself down.

Sincere aplogies if I have missed anyone / included anyone who doesn't want to.

I will update each monday morning, but will do an update this evening for anyone who wants to join, check in or update their days.

Ideal for new quitters or people relapsing, and getting back on the wagon

Will run until the new year, then we can all transfer to a 2019 challenge with some days in the bank.

Sorry to hear than Anon0000

The best advice is just start again, a day at a time.

What attracted my about this challenge was the "it takes 3 months to breal a habit".

It may do, but really it just takes 1 day, then another, then another.

I will update a table every monday.

Checking in day 13.

Sorry to hear that Anon.

Please don’t leave the challenge though. I understand you feel you’ve let people / yourself down but no reason you can’t put it behind you and continue. Christmas can be an expensive time of year and for me it’s a good time to put loved ones first and think of what lovely things I can get to spoil them instead of lining the pockets of the gambling companies.

Wishing you well and hoping you’ll come back on the gamble free path and join us!
