Hi Everyone, i'm a 28 yr old female, a couple of years a go i was 1k in debt from gambling, mainly bingo and slot machines. I sorted the debt, stopped gambling and started a fresh.

However just over 2 months a go i relapsed. I have today confessed all to my husband and thankfully i am not in debt although i do not have much money in my bank account at the moment. At the moment i feel the worst person in the world. i recently had a baby and feel the worse mother in the world. I am stressed with many things at the moment and think this has triggered the issue. I wanted to post on here to say that i am fortunate that my husband is supportive. I could not do this without him, i know i have a long road ahead of me and feel this site can help me as well as handing over my finances.

I hope this site can help me if im ever feeling down and i hope i can help others like me

Hi shamrock - Well done for admitting you have a problem and for joining this site where you will find a lot of support, encouragement and inspiration. Please don't feel you are 'the worst mother in the world' - although a baby's arrival is a happy event, it leaves Mum often feeling stressed, down, and tired! These are ideal conditions for seeking an 'escape' in gambling - but as we all know, it isn't. Try to get as much rest as you can (!) and look after yourself. It's good that you have told your husband and that don't have massive debt. You may not think so, but you are in a good place now to start your journey to a gamble-free life.

Best wishes

Joanna

Well done - keep well, keep strong and enjoy family time. Best wishes.

Joanna

P.S. Did you just change your username? If not, then apologies for calling you 'shamrock' - must have been a senior moment!

Thankyou, and yes i did change my name lol, though previous username was a little silly considering it means luck and gambling is far far from it
