@nyaba I'm really glad, that's what I wanted it to be, something that could help in our recovery journeys. I'm really glad to be back on gamcare.
Stay strong and best wishes.Â

Sorry @precinct46 I somehow missed your post I've added you in to the list above, great to have you. Going to be a great month ahead!Â
Morning everyone, day 2 of the challenge (day 14ish in total, I've lost track!)
I've been set a side challenge, to think of one thing (not a person) a day that I've seen or heard that day that I've appreciated. Yesterday I drew a blank, couldn't think of anything until I was having a read through the forums here.... This is what I appreciated! ?
Well done all - that’s practically another 2 days done so 216 for me ?
Well done everyone, start off our new GF lives ?
Â
one day at a time ?
Day 2 of the challenge complete , let’s keep it going 🙂
Day ,2 done, I opened up to another person close to me (only the second person I've spoken to), this time without tears and they said they had been worried about me anyway, noticed how withdrawn I became but knew me enough to know it was pointless asking me as I'd close up, we've promised to meet up at least twice a week and be open with eachother, they've also had health issues they didn't want to talk about- today's been an open and honest day-thats what I've appreciated today (my side challenge if you've read my previous post).
Â
Let's beat day 3 of the challenge ?
I’ll love to be a part of thisÂ
Day 3 of the challenge done, onto day 4.
How's everyone doing? I hope you're all doing good ?
@bettyfretty it's been tough for the first few days but I won't be letting it get the better of me 🙂Â
I hope you're doing positively aswell.
Well I failed, I don't know what got into me as I been feeling so determined and have zero interest in gambling but last night I went back on the online slots, I'm absolutely Disgusted with myself , can't believe I'm back to square one. ?
@bettyfretty chin up Betty don’t be so hard on yourself, you need to figure out what triggered last night and put blocks in place so you don’t relapse again.
Tomorrow is a new day and just remember you can beat this.
Â
Firstly so sorry I've been missing. Works been mental but also had some really bad personal news and that's taken some time away.Â
@sceed your in, welcome. I'll do an update Monday and list everyone's names.Â
@bettyfretty your honesty in coming straight on here will help massively, it shows how serious you want this, otherwise you'd have just hidden away. Take pride in the fact your back and I really love your side challenge. I read and hear that being grateful and showing gratitude etc is such a good thing but I've never quite managed to follow it but good on you.
As @ktl13 said best thing you can do is learn from it, get stronger from it, why did you gamble, bad day? Arguments? Tired? Alcohol? Bored? Knowing why might help and definitely agree with blocks, I didn't get any to start with and I constantly went back to it, I think the harsh truth is willpower isn't enough because willpower isn't always going to be 100% there all the time. I got a blocker on my laptop and an app on my phone, definitely worthwhile.Â
Take care all.Â
