so desperate to hear anyone's excellent thoughts on here. When I unfortunately slip, like many I think right I just want to get that 100 quid back and then end up losing maybe another 200 the same day and another 100 the next and to me that is a fair amount. I find it so hard to forget about it and not try and think right I'll stick 100 in and get it back slowly over the next week. All I ever want is the money iv lost back and it grates me all day as if that's the most important thing. I think I know the answers but have taken a lot from some excellent replys here before so thanks for any support. Annoying when the slip does happen but it's dealing with the loss and moving on I find so hard initially.

Hi Lemon, I've mentioned this in my diary a bit so offer my thoughts on it.

The ''chase' I believe works on the thought process that we have as CGs that our bad luck can't continue and that we are a step away from winning again. I'll be honest it has happened to me, I've come back from the precipice but more often that not I've lost lots lots more. It's a devastating spiral. Gambling outcomes are totally random, there is no entitlement to win after loss!

So what is the answer,? 4 me it has been to find a place where you don't even want the win, you don't want to start, you fear it because you know where it lead. I've done this through counselling and self reflection. Let go one last time mate, accept it and see it as an investment in your future. All the best mate

I think the majority of problem gamblers spend their whole life on the "chase" - not just what they've lost that day but for as long as they've been gambling.
