Gambling anonymous

Hi. If you go online and look for a website called GambleAware there is a section where you can search for a GA meeting in your area.

I have been going to my local GA for about 2 months and there is always between 15-20 people there each week who are really nice and welcoming.  You don't have to say anything if you dont want to and can listen to others and be with people who actually understand.

Well done for reaching out and just take one day at a time

First meeting last night, it was scary but everyone was very friendly and I was welcomed. I will definitely be returning next week . 

I went to my first meeting last night and as nervous as I was I feel it was good and feel its going to be really beneficial as part of my recovery. Listening to people who had so much in common with me and people who were supportive from the minute I walked in. I'm going back next week also.

So I haven’t gambled for 41 days, I’ve been attending GA meetings weekly. Up until now there has been someone home when I’ve been home and today is the first day it’s just me. I have thought about gambling so much today but have not. I think about how I felt when I was worried about the postman coming and the debt collectors ringing and getting the letters that my partner might see.
