Hey all,

I am not after pity I know its my fault, long story short my ex left me and our kid for a man at work 1 year ago leaving us in debt and etc, I do work full time and chipping away and trying my best to give our son a good life,

I seen people at work winning money gambling, and this is what I wanted be debt free kinda give my son a holiday but him more things, which i wish I never did, I got hooked online casino etc used my savings £1300 i know not much but being a single full time working dad not bad, luckily I paid my rent etc so not in arrears,

yes I defaulted on a few bills trying to win money back,

lucky I figured out fast I got a problem and If I dont stop I will ruin it all, so I got my self blocked on gaming sites, set up payment plans on bills I fell behind on, and realised i need help

now that I am blocked, I have emailed near every foreign gaming site providers to block my details, just in case i lose the will

yes I know I mucked up, I know I should do better and I will, I am not blaming whatever happened with my ex, I decided to gamble,

but how do you get this out of your mind, gambling and wanting to gamble,

Hi mate

That’s really the hardest part for me—those quiet moments at night when my wife and kids are asleep. That’s when the urge to gamble really creeps in. I’ve tried reading, watching movies, even picking up hobbies, but the thought of gambling always lingers in the background.

How are you all dealing with those moments? What’s been working for you?

Yeah, gambling can turn into a problem real quick if it’s not kept in check. Setting limits, taking breaks, and only playing with money you’re okay losing makes a big difference. If it ever feels out of control, reaching out for help is way better than trying to handle it alone.

Wow, I really respect you for owning up to this and taking steps to fix it. It’s tough to deal with all that pressure, especially as a single dad. Finding new hobbies or things to do can really help keep mind off it. You got this!
