Its been nearly 3 months since my horrible secret gambling addiction came out. My partner has just been so unsupportive, doesnt want to help me and keeps bringing up all the lies i fed him when i was gambling. Something i am so ashamed of and cannot take back. Has anyone else been in this situation? I genuinely am struggling so much to the point of a relapse. My mental health has taken such a toll on the mess I have created.

I have never felt so low in my whole entire life I don't know what to do 🙁

Hi sbrogz89,

I'm glad you came and shared this with us as it sounds like you're having a really tough time at present. Please just know you never have to be alone when it comes to dealing with this. We're available night and day if you ever need to talk in confidence with no judgement.

We can walk you through various blocking strategies which can help restrict people's easy access to the gambling. We can also look into free support options which many find helpful alongside blocking their easy gambling access.

Please feel welcome to make contact via our free 24/7 helpline: 0808 8020 133 or via live chat

kind regards,

I’m sorry your partner is being unsupportive. I can’t offer any advice but you’re doing amazing not gambling for 3 months. I’m too ashamed to let my family know I was gambling again. So I feel that. Maybe try ask him to be kinder to you as gambling is an addiction and we’ve all lied to loved ones or I know I have.

well done for being so strong

Hi sbrogz89,

it’s really hard for us who have the problem and even harder for the loved ones around us. Be proud of your three months achievement. My partner struggled and still does especially when I’ve had a relapse. Be strong and continue your journey
