Day 50

I have an open top bus parade planned for later, only joking. Tomorrow is going to be a bigger milestone in my opinion, as I will have gone 1 complete calendar month without a betting transaction on my bank statement. It's a long time since I've been able to say that.

Will try and remind myself of the reasons for stopping and push on to 100 days.

Stay strong

Massive congratulations mutton, you're doing brilliantly.

After my first month, it was not only lovely to see no gambling transactions, but also to have money in the bank as well still, with payday the next day.

I had debt too and it most definitely is worth, leaving enough money to live on and a bit more, but to also clear any debt, with spare cash ASAP, so it isn't hanging around. If you've no debts, try looking into a savings account, with no card for withdrawals and purchases. Seeing savings grow and debts reducing, is another massive boost to the mind, to say, yes i'm absolutely doing the right thing here.

Thanks Steve,

I think I'm starting to see the wood from the trees at last. The thing I keep reminding myself is that it is only going to get better from here. Thanks for reading

Regards

Day 51

Just got back in from a great day out in London with the family. I won't shout it too loud, but I think that things are starting to improve all round.

Day 53

The days are really starting to add up now, which in its self means nothing. It is the attitude to what I have done before that is the most important thing, and fortunately it still haunts me. Long may that continue.

Day 56

8 weeks today!

Thanks Steve you're right, every day spent avoiding this horrible addiction is a bonus.

The financial situation seems to be improving slightly, which is a good feeling.

Day 57

Really positive day today. Pretty sure my way of thinking is changing, I've started to think normal thoughts most of the time and not imagining that I am about to get rich quick. Anyway, whatever is happening it's a d**n sight better than it was previously.

Day 58

Starting back to work today. I run my own business, but have had people working for me while I pursued other things.

Part of my back to basics policy(I sound like a government spokesman).

Hi russ only just looked through your diary. Your doing really well mate. 57 days! Excellent. I am a believer in having the mind set right and by what you have just said about thinking normally again shows you are beating this mate! Well done

Day 59

Thanks to Gaz and Ben for commenting. I find it fascinating to read through the diaries and relate to virtually every person on here. We all obviously have 1 thing in common, and it is a big help to know that you are not unique and there is always someone in a similar or worse position than yourself.

Work is going well and it makes a nice change to have a different mindset and objective to wake up to each morning.

Stay strong
