12 days of being completely gamble free. This is the best I have ever done. I abstained from gambling for 6 months in the past but I continued doing daily free spins etc. In my eyes now I wasn’t dealing with my problem, I was just putting it on hold. I am an addict. I have an addiction. For me there is no “oh I can just....”. It’s all or nothing for me now. So I am giving it my all. All my blocks are in place and I have no desire to gamble. My relationship is improving slowly and we are being honest and having real discussions. It’s hard to hear how my gambling affected him with my mood swings and irritated behaviour. However I have to let that go and build towards a better future. Here is to every new day being gamble free.

There's a difference to your abstinence this time, Debsy. Before, you were keeping it "at bay"; not talking about it, continuing with free spins etc., and not putting blocks in place to cover times when we are weak and might lapse.

This time, you are accommodating all of these things. Solid blocks, open discussion, and a fresh, real, attitude.

Your are building this abstinence period with solid foundations. It's different this time and I sense it feels different to you, Debsy.

One day at a time, as always, but there's a freshness about your approach.

We all all with you as we recognise the "new" Debsy; you are giving yourself a fantastic opportunity towards the better life you and your loved ones deserve!

Hi Debsy,

Really touched by reading through your diary. It is very obvious to me this time that you have such determination and are taking this totally wholeheartedly. 12 days is a massive achievement in terms of not gambling, and it is testament to the effort you are putting into your recovery. Congratulations on registering for Gamstop as well, that is a really positive block you now have in place.

Well Done

S x

13.....unlucky for some and it would have been an unlucky day for me had I continued on my self destructive path. However I have now completed 13 days gamble free. Such a freeing feeling. I am taking one day at a time but I feel confident and proud of myself

Exactly! The anxiety of it all is real, it can only be a positive thing because I believe I can be successful at stopping for good.

Two weeks gamble free

A heroine on a quest

Side-by-side with gamcare friends

All trying to do their best.

Soon it will be springtime

Hear the clocks tick tock

Our Debsy on a mission

A lady who's ready to rock

???
