You have so many strengths and I recognise they come from fighting these struggles you have. Take as much time as you need to be well. You don't have to say ought to us.

Do reach out to the Helpline. They are lovely and will look after you.

Sleep well Murlo.

Morning day 76. I still have a lot to do to recharge my mental batteries. I will really try to focus on that this weekend. It feels like hard work this time.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend

Morning murlo..

Tulips are looking mighty fine.

Remember our batteries are used not only for ourselves but helping our other little chickens on this forum. So no wonder they drain

You are a bit like an empty reservoir at the minute.. Let's hope for rain a plenty this weekend

Hopeful to chat 1pm

Boo ?

Thank you so much Mark, Boo and Zoe x

I have spent today doing the things that I know help me when I am running a bit low. I sometimes liken it to being in the ocean. Some days I float on the surface under a lovely sun and I feel great.  Sometimes the current is so strong that I have to fight hard to tread water and stop myself from sinking. I will get through it, I always do. I guess I am just building new coping mechanisms because in the past, I would have turned to gambling. I can genuinely say I have absolutely no urge to gamble.

Wishing everyone a good night's rest x

’Look  up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see, and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.’ - Stephen Hawking.

I’ll try that one. It is a lovely clear sky tonight.

Sorry if my questions were too intense on chat.

I suppose we are all keen to know about all that is happening and concerned for our fellow gamcare buddies.

Keep us as upto date as you feel comfortable with..

And I hope you find recovery as easy a place as it can be

Boo ??

Boo, I had no problem at all with the questions on chat. It really doesn't bother me to talk about it.

I will be popping into chat when I can. Not wishing to build my hopes up too much but I am expecting to feel better quite quickly.

Been out for a lovely long walk with hubby. Stunning weather for it ?

11 weeks gamble free today.

Despite some challenges with my mental well-being I have not had any gambling urges for a good few days.

Finally decided that I will try something new to help with some of the persistent thoughts I have been having. It is quite a novel treatment but one that is seeming to be proving it's worth more and more over time. Just making a decision like that has made my day a little easier today. I have been out in the fresh air for a decent walk twice and enjoyed doing  some cooking.

Congratulations Murlo on your excellent progress. You have certainly had plenty to cope with but you have behaved like a true champion and are now 11 weeks into your journey of recovery.

I must say that it takes a lot to impress me but you have succeeded in doing just that on several occasions with your warmth, humour and compassion.

And when I started composing this post, Christine Aguilera was on the radio singing "You Are Beautiful" so I will dedicate that song to you.

Hi Murlo,

11 weeks that's fantastic. Despite your own struggles you've always found the time  to ask about others & that's what makes you special.

Best Wishes

AL
