DAY92.

I started this journey as an over opinionated, know it all jumped up fool. Yes a fool the person I am sure as I on countless times as i did the walk of shame potless again that many had a good laugh at my demise. Today I care I am passionate about folk not just gambling folk but everyone, before if I saw someone in need I would be the one looking the other way. Abstaining from gambling has taught me humility and to ask when I need help and although I do not have the answers to it all I wont be the one looking the other way I will be the one holding that torch aloft.

Duncs compulsive gambler warts and all NO BET today.

Hi D

Great diary for the newbie as we can see how you evolve as a gamble free person over what is a short period of time. I wonder how much your work has improved without the full time job that is compulsive gambling. I feel I am a good bit more productive and I am still pre occupied with gambling. Today is a good day and I am enjoying it. Well done again and to be honest I feel so far that this recovery you get out of it what you put in. Thus 100% commitment 100% recovery and so on. Enjoy your day

Michael

Dunc.. great to see you moving forward... we are on very similar paths as I stopped 9th Jan and havent bet since... stopped the smokes too and try to focus on work so I can clear the debt as quickly as possible.. I have great support _ really lucky... so concentrating on the positive aspects of my life is becoming easier.

Loved this "I have a stick called "compulsive gambler" I choose to beat the addiction with it not myself."

although I dont post on the diaries so much... I lurk on yours and enjoy reading your words...

Hi Duncanmac

Thanks for ur post think it was a tricky one to reply on great point bout ur last comments and couldn't agree more , with gambling myself for 27 years and wasting my life like u I want to put somethin back into society in which I took so little out of , again like urself I will continue to help others esp those who are in most need of it like ourselves once were , as we take our recovery a day at a time who knows what the future really holds

So for today we will keep on supporting

day93. No bet today and no GA tonight, due to the fact that i gained an extra dozen bookings for dinner at work and right now that is my medicine. A new menu new dishes for the brigade and i am leading the charge. Tonight a customer said it was the best food they had eaten. That folks is medicine enough, because i know if i was at it i would not be back on the stove where with honesty i belong. So the only thoughts of gambling for me today is earlier i text one of my fellowship to send my gamble free appology and now dead beat posting on here! Duncs one more stride forward in this my gamble free life. No bet today.

you know what they say Duncs....if your not in bed by 10...come home...LOL.....

Only joking ...and a little dash of northern crude humour there...

What a great day and life you have an so lovely to hear you say your adore your lady ...always makes my heart sing to read the men saying that about their other halves on here...It also gives folk like me hope that despite it all...true love prevails..

Im home now and have done a posh food shop as a treat as fridge empty...

NIght all at the Dunc house and Dottys ears pricked up now as you said the word ..roast beef....! xx

Always forward never back....

morning diary. Just been laying in bed watching my wife sleep a trully beautiful sight to see her look peacefull and content, when i was at it i would be lying here fretting building up that saturday of nervous tension ready for another day of deceipt over no doubt losses or lies about winning even to cover the money lost or formulate money for sundays punt. Today i lay here reading some wonderfull posts on this forum a great tool for me in recovery and another string added to my bow to help me onwards in this journey. Off to work shortly for a long day but will squeeze in a walk with the dog first, all because today i am gamble free and my zest for life and all thats in it just keeps growing. Hope you all have a great weekend. Keep posting ! ! It helps. Duncan compulsive gambler NO BET TODAY.
