Evening,

In 52 mins , you will hit:

90 DAYS

You know me always like to get my two penny worth in, first .

I hope you wake up to my post, which is written from my heart to say well done does no where near meet the admiration I have for you hitting not only your first target, but turning your life around 36O degrees in that time.

Over the last 3 months I feel we have formed a comradeship that I know has been a helping hand along my road of recovery. So I thank you for the making me smile , thank you for inspiring me with your positivity and on more than one occasion giving me food for thought. All of this has really helped me to join in you in the daily step forward , never back.

Take care my friend .

Day90.

Dusty I am glad you got there first to share a thought for my first goal, yes we are certainly comrades in this fight to live gamble free.

So DAY 90 NO BET. I would like to thank all those again on this forum that often speak through the medium of words much more than just that WORDS. There is so much giving of support, inspiration, dedication to helping the person on the other side of the screen it once again now makes me a 37 year old man cry freely. I can not give thanks enough to those who give to this site and you know you are and I hope that it gives back to you all like it does me.

90 days I can with complete honesty say I have not abstained from gambling for a total of 90 days in my life as compulsive gambler let alone 90 days straight. But I have taken those "gambling googles" off donned the new focused ones and started a new gamble free life, one which does not revolve solely around the next punt folowed by the next lie and that was my life cycle.

Today through GA,Gamcare and my family I am armed to the back teeth with the correct barriers and support to continue this daily journey one step forward at a time to live happily gamble free.

All the advise I can give to anyone is take all the help you can get it works but most of all do it for yourselves because I do now have control of my life and will continue daily by saying those words "NO BET TODAY"

And finally I want to give the biggest thanks to my best friend,my soul mate the person who knows my world better than I do my beautiful wife Sarah who is my "rock"and I will make it my lifes work to ensure we share my new better life.

I feel blessed and know this is just another step toward that light I will reach and bask in.

Duncs compulsive gambler NO BET TODAY.

DMac,

What a joy this forum is today. I had previously read Castle's post, which cheered me up and now I move onto you. What a magnificent achievement. Ninety days gamble free and the difference between today and ninety one days ago is clear for all to see. You deserve all the happiness in the world. You get out of life what you put in and in my opinion your dedication to your recovery is there for all to see. Great for anyone new to read your diary. Bleak at the beginning and bliss at the end.

Tomso.

Morning,

Thank you for the kind message you posted on my thread yesterday. Missed it early on when I posted and found it when I got in .

Have you decided on your next target. Maybe like me you won't have one.

Interested on your thoughts on that one.

Other than that alls good in my world, I hope the same can be said in yours.

91days 13 weeks NO BET.

Thanks to all again for your inspiring words it really does help me to stay focused for the ongoing battle to live gamble free.

Dusty I do have a list of targets I am formulating the first was to be get back to the level of cooking I am worthy of and I have achieved that.

I am going to make a list of one thing to reward myself/family through my abstaining and one "my name is earl" list were I am looking to right the wrongs gambling made me do. I am going to do this ying and yang to enable me to continue to enjoy my recovery as I really do think that my half full glass of gamble free shake will stay fresh that way.

I have a stick called "compulsive gambler" I choose to beat the addiction with it not myself.

My first reward will be to have verse that i am working on inked as a permanent reminder that I am on a life journey.

Duncs compulsive gambler NO BET today.

Hiya Duncs,

...great post here and absolutely right about whipping the addiction and not yourself...

I love that tape recorder analogy....hate the tape but love the recorder and we can always stop and change our tapes at any time.

Great to have goals too Dunc and enjoying being off the merrygoround and full steam ahead with your life ...You have turned things around so well and its a pleasure to read your recovery...a true inspiration and also now complete with Hovis....lets hope he behaves or he will be toast!!! lol
