Evening diary

Thanks shiny.

Rach I hope you saw sense in my posts.

Gamcare has played such a huge part in my continued recovery I get so frustrated when it goes wrong.

I have had a great start to the year spent in the company of my beautiful wife, today we wandered through the shops in street, the home of clarks shoes, apt that Sarah brought a pair lol.

Off to enjoy supper now.

No bet today

Afternoon diary

on the rattler home after a great couple of days r and r.

Something today that comes with great ease and maximum pleasure.

Lol Sarah did phone Joe and Lily roughly twice an hour to check on there wellbeing, being nearly 19 and 17 they were of course fine!!!!

I can see 2013 being a good year in our lives. 21 years together this year and ten married on d day.

We will be debt free by the end of it to boot.

Each day i will celebrate life and what it can deliver.

I plan to spend my year giving back where i can.

I would like to help kids understand more about the compulsive gambler.

Prevention rather than cure.

20 days on the countdown clock to a year gamble free

i feel as if i am building my house, the year will mark the laying of the foundations. Then to start building.a never endi project a game for life.

No bet today, no time for it.

Evening diary

i don't know who posts this dribble upon my diary.

It is not productive to mine or anybody else's recovery.

I will state again my name is Duncan mcquilken.

I am a compulsive gambler in recovery since 23/01/2012.

My reason for being here is my recovery from the terrible addiction that stole twenty years of my life.

If i harboured information since June 2012 so important why disclose it now???and for what good.

Gamcare is about recovery from the addiction to gambling from both sides of the fence.

My resolve will not diminish through any nonsense.

And i end with this, i have seen over 800 people come through this forum in all shape, sizes from both sides of the fence and unconditionally my wish for all is the same.

To recover from this addiction.

I do not and will not judge.

I ask only this.

If it is not related to recovery, don't waste my time.

Hi Duncs....been off the site as not been in a good place...thank you for posting and steering me on the right track as coming back on the forum ...i just figured i'd set off a tsunami with my own frustrations as I mainly just read people i post to and im not on chat..

Lots of misunderstandings on the homefront that reached a head and I lost it but now resolving amicably as obviously don't want to bring it onto the forum...

Gamcare

last night i received a post which i duly replied to, in a reasoned balanced manner, to which i reasoned that this forum is about nothing but recovery.

My post have been deleted and i have been labled vicious .

This takes me to break point.

I have since 23rd January 2012 posted nothing but supportive posts to others and my diary has been a warts and all account of my recovery.

I am 18 days from living a gamble free year and i have decided to end this diary here.

I will seek to top up my resolve with a means where i will not be labled such derisory things and wish all gamcare members ongoing success in your recovery.

Hi Duncan, I am more of a "reader" nowadays and do not post much, but feel compelled to do so having witnessed the threads.

Let me firstly say that in no way could any of your comments be labelled vicious... you were very clear in what you said in trying to direct the thread to a resolution, not taking sides and clearly stating what you feel is the key aim of this forum.

In your response to Gamcare though, I feel maybe Gamcare have just blocked the whole issue together and deleted all related posts, and in their description of why, did not mean that they were all vicious. Anybody would and should know you by now.

I say this because I would hate to see such a key contributor leave this forum due to a misunderstanding of an action taken by Gamcare.

Again, I am sure that your posts were only deleted as they were part of the whole thing, and I know that in no way were you "vicious" to either side of the argument, and that you tried to represent what most folks on here would feel... that this should be a safe place.

I hope I am not overstepping with this post and wish you well.

Jon
