I’ve recently found myself in a horrible situation.

I won a decent some of money which helped me get out of a bank overdraft. But I blew the money I put into my account trying to win life changing money. I’ve just been honest with my partner about the losses. She’s crushed. Says she can’t trust me. I’ve let her down and I’m feeling worthless.

Ive been gambling for a long time. Been in a job for 7 years and it just never felt like the income and tasks were getting me anywhere. I tried finding a quick fix and for weeks and weeks I’d put myself in a state of depression because my life hasn’t changed. I’m staying at my partners house a lot and she’s fallen in hard times in 2020. Death in the family and abuse from an ex. Even internal mistakes from myself. This has put something sharp in the wound and I need to get help. My intentions are to learn how to drive , go on holidays. She’s unemployed and has more money than me in her account cos of the money I won and gave her. I f****d it up. I need help.

Hi there. You're on the road to recovery. You've told her which is VERY difficult. If she doesn't trust you for a while then it's understandable and at least you gave her money and didn't lose that too.

Now's the time to change both your lives for the better and don't look for the quick fix.

Hi @antchile91. Fair play for acknowledging what you have done. First time I had a major loss it took me 2 months to tell my partner so good for you cuz I know how hard it is. Ofcourse she will have trust issues afterwards for a while, but if she is the love of your life she will move on with you. Behind every man's success is a strong woman holding it all together. Be grateful she is still around and hope everything works out for you pal ?
