Okay so I was on this a while ago and recently due to getting really down I have started to gamble a lot and I want to stop so am going to keep a diary and any urge I get I will be putting it on the diary to stop myself. Im an internet gambler and hopefully with support and advice I can stop completely. I will be reading through the board but just wanted to get the ball rolling with and start of day one of the having money and getting over this affliction. My first step is to go and see a doctor about this and try some new hobbies to keep myself active.

Hi J

Day 2 well done and by taking one day at a time you will win each day cos you are not playing

The triangle is a very good barrier

Time location and money take one of these away and it's impossible to play

Make good use of this forum by posting and reading it really does help

Best wishes

Suzanne x

After a few blips from starting the diary I've written the time down in a few places I can see regular 19.21 last night is last time I went to casinos and closed all the down so feel better today after 24hours free and will concentrate on the next 24 hours.

Over three days no gambling seems that writing the date and time I quit in loads of places I can see has helped remind me to stay strong. Also closing accounts online has taken away the opportunity to gamble. I'm certain I can stay away now keeping to my new routine I have started. Thanks for support people

Hi mate, hope things are going ok for you.

Interestingly i went through a stage quite a while ago when i changed my pin number on my debit card to the date when i stopped gambling (ie 18 March would be 1803). For some reason it seemed to help as everytime i needed to withdraw money it was a reminder for me and a kind of incentive to keep going. Sure, i slipped up in the end but thats life.... Im now 38 days without a bet which im very proud of. Ive been logging on here every day since joining on 1 May and its been a tremendous help for me. Im pretty sure i wouldnt have gone 38 days without this place.

Keep strong mate and remember "gambling - i got one less problem without ya"

Mark

5 days gone now, am in better form and working out more will be a tank before you know it!

My subcommunications to people must have been atrocious in the last month due to the stress without me even knowing it as family members have started to say why are you in such good form.

Feeling better already and am determined to stay on this road.

Well done johnny5 on reaching your 5th day.

One week today and to honest I was very close to having a punt today but I didn't and I'm starting to write down how I'm feeling when I get the urge. Most of the time it's boredom. Anyway onwards and upwards.
