Its my day 16 gamble free today.

I'm doing so well I can't believe I've managed to last so long. It might only seem over 2 weeks but I would sit daily playing slots for hours soon as I finished work till bedtime.

I have all blocks in place and only one site won't let me self exclude and the block isn't restricted with the gameban ect even though its saying uk site. ive done the self exclude for 5 years with gamestop also There seems to be an issue with this one particular site and when I click self exclusion it automatically does 24 hours which is making me having to go on every day to reset it till they respond to my email. BUT. I am so proud of myself because it just shows how well I am coping as I could quite easily just make the deposit on this site but I'm just logging in to keep the ban running.

I feel so much better in myself. I used to play the same games I enjoyed and I would literally even dream of slots, the spins the bonus( how sad i know) but just shows how much I played because it took over my mind and my life.

The one thing I have been doing that may help anyone starting there gamble free journey is to log in here daily. I'm doing it a few times through the day, just to check forms and read other people's struggles with this horrible addiction and its really keeping me motivated. Seeing the days adding up of my gamble free days spurs me on. One day at a time but soon creeping up.

So if your reading this and your new and just starting out and are at rock bottom like I felt just see this and know that just a small number of weeks time you will feel so so much better, your bills will be paid, you will be enjoying family time again and you won't be letting them casino sites have your hard earned cash.

Congratulations Secretaddict.

I have just read your diary and am impressed by your courage and determination.

The only advice I would offer is to take one day at a time and if ever you are having a bad day than just live with it because tomorrow is always another day.

Wishing you success and contentment on your gamble-free adventure.

Aum?

Well done @Secretaddict,  that’s great to hear. I’m not too far behind, Day 10 for me GF & it does feel good not feel the need to play on the slots. It’s like I was under a spell or brainwashed.

I used to feel I had to play, which is crazy & I had slot dreams too ? I used to get so annoyed if a bonus did not pay out what I thought it should, which seems so ridiculous now.

We can do this ?? Take care xxx

Well done you,  its so mad about the dreams isnt it. And they would be worse when you knew you needed to try recover the money you had lost that was bill money. I'm so glad my mind is refreshed now and out that trance.

I know its still early days and got a long time to recover but I am so surprised how easy I am finding it considering I gambled for 12 years.

When I physically had no money there urges was so so strong till payday but not had one urge. I'm finding coming on here daily helps loads

Take care and good luck with the rest of your journey @misslinesinthesand

So I've officially hit 3 weeks of being gamble free. YIPEEE!!

I've surprisingly found it very easy up to now, considering I gambled daily religiously for the past 12 years I'm actually shocked I've been able to do this with no hurdles or urges alot the way so far. I understand its early days yet but I am beaming with happiness how far I have come already.

If your reading this and your stuck in the vicious cycle of being  paid gambling it and losing, then betting more and winning some but then lose it all plus more and want to break that habit because you are at rock bottom and wondering how your going to pay your bills and survive till next payday but don't think you could have success, then change that mindthought. Its never to late to make that start and believe me just a few days of being gamble free certainly makes a difference. A weight will be lifted, and as them days add up you become much stronger ? and the fog lists and you can see how much happier you are without gambling all your hard earned money.

Well done Joanne, one day at a time is the number one quote on this site. Those days soon add up, have you started a diary, so helpful to keep logging achievements or feeling to help others who come after you.

Hi captain, thanks for writing on my diary.

Ahh yes I read quite a bit of your diary, I didn't quite make it to the end just yet so I hope you managed to become gf. Reading your diary did help its really put things into prospective about reducing gambling and I don't think I could set myself limits and stop ramdom gambling. I tried that before I found this site. I set myself deposit limits for £30 each on 2 sites for every  Saturday, I would deposit there and then just go on others and sign up to new places to fulfil my addiction.Going all out is the way for me.
