Ive found the little (and big) things for the house have been neglected for months, oh I’ll get that next payday, make that last a bit longer, I’ll buy those new light bulbs when I have the spare cash etc.

So even though I haven’t physically had the cash from my OH, she’s told me that I have a weekly budget for fuel and food etc. As our weekend plans changed a bit she told me I’d underspent by just over a tenner. Needed a new shower curtain for ages as it’s nearly rotting away so ordered it and were gonna go buy it. Sounds stupid but I’m taking positives for anything I can right now and putting my effort into more productive things li,e the house, family and friends instead of the demon.

Haven’t had a bet since 27th May and every day is getting a bit easier, although not all plain sailing.

Have a good day everyone 🙂

Love this. Remarkable the things you start addressing once the gambling stops. Good on you.

Having got used to going without and making do for years without ever really noticing we have been in a position to replace or indulge in various items for a couple of years or so now Mr L's debts are substantially paid down. Productive use of cash even if it's "just" a tenner never grows old for me 🙂

My point was that I’m happy spending a tenner on something for the house than on a scratch card like I did 2 weeks ago. . Believe me I’m counting every penny right now, £10 is a lot to me too! I have let the house go a lot recently to he point I haven’t wanted to invite people round so just trying to get sorted
