Thank you Stephen and 46 and Out. Thank you both for taking the time to stop by and leave a few know words.
Today marks 184 days and I feel like I'm a completely different person to the one who started this thread.
It's been hard, I've cried, felt so stupid, the guilt was crippling at times. I've been stressed and anxious and had the urges to gamble. I'm proud that I got through all these feelings thoughts and emotions without turning back to gambling. Which makes me wonder why I did it in the 1st place.
I look forward to reporting that I'm 100% debt free in the very near future.
215 days without gambling a single penny. Very happy with how far I've come. With my next post I will be debt free. 🙂
Superb Slot Fool. Keep up the great work.
Take care

Hi Slot Fool, I’ve just been reading your diary from start to finish.
Firstly, let me say, a massive congratulations on going 7 months gamble free and closing in on paying off your debt!
It seems like the turning point in your recovery came when you told your husband. Am I right?
I know that finally telling my girlfriend was the best thing I could have done and is proving to be the most effective block that I’ve put in place. Simply because I have loving support in place, somebody to talk to when I’m feeling low about my addiction and the fact that I am now accountable for my future actions.
Keep up the great work, Slot Fool.
Of which you no longer are that 🙂

Hi 46 and out and Determinded Dan, thank you both for posting.
I totally agree that telling my husband was a game changer. Best thing I ever did. 🙂
I'm 219 days gamble free!
I did it Everyone!! I managed to clear the £5,950 of debt due to gambling yesterday. It took hard work and commitment. Using most of my wage every month but I did it. Cleared two credit cards, a loan, my overdraft and I'm all square. I've also been monitoring my credit score and Experian is now 999 a perfect score.
If I can do it, you can too. You just have to want to do it and have a plan to reach your goal and the will power to stick to it.
I will set myself a new goal on Monday, now my finances are in shape I want to get my body in shape and set some targets. I've ran 25km so far this week and I'm on my way to my local Parkrun now. Have a fabulous day and enjoy your weekend!
257 days gamble free and proud! I've been busy of late and have let the diet slip a little... Well a lot! Still running and still gamble free so that's the main goal. Life is good and can only get better. Coming up to a year from my surgery when it all went wrong but I'm ok with that and feel strong.
382 days gamble free, I have not gambled for over 1 year!!
November 10th 2017 was the day I told my husband everything and quit for good. How my life has changed in 12 months is amazing. I cleared nearly 6k debt, saved 4k, improved my credit score, applied for a mortgage and we've bought a house. We are now settled in and couldn't be happier. I would never have believed this would happen back in Nov last year.
Affected by gambling?
