Good evening guys,

Joined here begining of the year with a plan to stop gambling, lasted 2 weeks at most on my second attempt, but the willpower collapsed and I started gambling heavy again!

Finally found it in me to come back and start again, so here I am, I have been mostly gambling online, (football, NBA and the odd horse race), I have an active betting account which has one bet left to go, which is the football tomorrow, I know I cant be gamble free with that there so will count Monday as day 1, just wanted to get back on here and get step 1 underway!

For those who didn't meet me the first time I joined, My name is Aaron, I'm 29 and gamble mainly on Sports, but partial to the FOBT in shops too.

Well, that's me back, and here to do it properly this time!

Onwards and Upwards guys!

Great to have you back and determined. 🙂

Thanks for your post on my diary. I'd love for us to help encourage and support one another. We can celebrate and congratulate each other on the milestones 🙂

I've used this forum a lot during recovery, but never really chatted to anyone on a more personal level and got to know them - I'm thinking us buddying up this way could really help me keep on track, so thanks!

Here is day one. Here's to day 100!!!

Hi Gooner,

Just a response to your idea about joining forces with Pinky and I. A great suggestion. Together we are stronger. Like a triangle every side has to stay strong to preserve the strength, let's all ensure the triangle stays complete.

How are your early days going?

If either of you are feeling really vulnerable at any point, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will subscribe to both diaries and try and reply asap. This forum will be a valuable tool in my recovery, in terms of support and filling my time.

Hello guys, going well today, started cracking on with decorating again, which is a huge distraction so really helpful for now! Sorry it's a late reply, but another day done and dusted and hope you are all doing well 🙂

I may find tuesday and wednesday quite hard as events coming up which I would normally be all over but we'll see how I cope with ignoring the temptation to bet!

Speak soon guys

This week will no doubt prove a test of strength for you. Think of it this way, if you can avoid temptation this week you can do it any time. Think of the wonderful feeling of removing the burden you have been carrying around with you, knowing that you have regained control. That is far more valuable than any "win" will ever be. Good luck, stay strong and keep in touch!

Evening guys, thanks for the comments, Seems like im in a big tug of war with my mind and temptation right now...luckily I don't get paid till wednesday so tomorrow will be impossible to gamble...stupidly i've already looked and picked what I would pick, which is going to lead to me looking if it came in...could be depressing if it comes but could be a result if it loses 😉 either way there wont be no money laid on...and tuesday is day 3 so looking forward to day 7, then i'll aim for 2 weeks 🙂

Anyways...might not be on tomorrow but i'll post soon and update how things are!

Stay strong everyone!

Irregardless of the results, the biggest result is not gambling! Sounds like a cliche, but it's true. A win would only prolong this addiction and make you think it's recoverable.

Let us know how you got on today, as I know it's a huge pull for many people. I hope you're well.

Very true mask.

And gooner, if you do happen to check and those picks came in - don't feel bad, see that as a lucky escape instead and give yourself a big pat on the back for not placing bets on them! Because if you had 'won' where would it end? We all know one bet leads to another, and we always put back any 'winnings' plus usually more of our own money. So you've saved yourself there mate 🙂

Check in soon and let us know how your weeks going x
