Many thanks for visiting my diary RochG, Boo & ChrisK.
Hello Diary.
Been feeling weary and a bit breathless since my Covid Vacine last Wednesday but it doesn't start to work until 8 days so hopefully will soon be feeling more alert.
Nice lazy walk to the waterfront earlier but didn't linger because it was a bit chilly. No sign of my friend Carlie the Coot for a few days but plenty of hungry ducks in the old dock and marina. They seemed to enjoy the oats I threw them. I hope the coot is ok.
Aum ???
Hi Stephen,
Well done on getting the vaccine, I hope you're feeling better soon. You could consider using NHS 111 if you would like some medical guidance.
Nice to see you enjoying the ducks.
Take good care of yourself,
Adam.
Great to hear that you've had your first jab, Stephen. Innoculated from the virus (one jab to go) and daily protection from gambling... It's all heading in the right direction 🙂
Thank you Adam & RochG for visiting my diary and thank you Adam for the link giving COVID advice.
Pleased to report that I am feeling a little better today. Bit more energy and less achy.
Beautiful sunny day here in Hull so looking forward to an afternoon walk.
Wishing everyone a contented gamble-free February.
Aum x
Hi Stephen, I'm delighted to hear, post-jab, you're getting over the short-term side effects and enjoying what matters in life ... life itself. Wishing you peace and fulfilment this February.
Many thanks for the kind words RochG.
Hello Diary.
Non stop rain today but was delighted to see Carlie the Coot back paddling around the old dock. Not seen her for a couple of days and I was getting concerned. Never see her with other coots. It puzzles me that she is always with the ducks and I worry sometimes that she looks a fed up.
Wonder if there are angels who watch over ducks, coots and other animals?
If I come back as a bird I hope to be flying around a tropical paradise with lots of tasty goodies on the trees and no predators trying to do me harm.
Aum.
How different life is when we we stop being blinded by this addiction. We see, we appreciate with a unique clarity. Being in recovery is a really good place to be. And glad to see Carlie the Coot in good spirits too 🙂
Thank you for visiting my diary RochG. Hope you are contented and happily adjusting to gamble-free living as you approach the first month mark.
Hello Diary.
A cold wintry weekend but will be quite invigorating by the riverside. About to venture off for a walk.
During recent months I have spent very little due to the covid restrictions and yesterday decided to use the savings to reduce my debt. That has made me feel much much better and I look forward to being debt free in the near future.
Debt free me will surely be
Cool composed and calm
Wooing all the ladies
For gamble-free has charm
???
Love and best wishes to all my gamcare brothers and sisters.

I rather like that, Stephen. For when our minds aren't distracted by the menace of this addiction, we can focus on other aspects of life. A win/win for everyone!
I hope you enjoyed your walk this afternoon. It's bracing out there but a fantastic enhancement to our well-being. Yet another win 🙂
I hope all's well with you Stephen and it's not too bracing in Hull 🙂
Thank you RochG. It has been a wonderful, snow-filled, gamble-free day. Plenty of people out and about enjoying themselves.
I was stood looking out over the Humber earlier this evening. A strong cold wind was blowing and heavy snow falling when two young joggers ran past wearing shorts and a top. I had to laugh and commented on their bravery which seemed to please them.

There is something about joggers wearing next to naff-all in this weather, and patrons from the North East visiting their pubs just wearing t-shirts! How do they do it ?! Makes my shiver just thinking about it.
I'm glad that life is treating you well Stephen and you're making the best of this cold spell. Every season has its beauty and with undistracted eyes we can appreciate so much more than we otherwise could.
Thank you for passing by my diary, a very thoughtful message on my 30 days gambling free. Won't stop till I get to 3000 days or fall off my mortal coil, whatever happens first. One day at a time as always 🙂
Take care Stephen 🙂
Many thanks for visiting my diary RochG with a reminder of how life should be lived. I like your inspiring message:

Hello Diary.
Lovely day here in Hull
Snow laid on the ground
Got a bar of chocolate
With nuts for just three pound
Had a walk here and there
Fed the ducks some oats
Passed by the Marina
With sailors on their boats
Tis indeed a wonderful world
Full of awesome beauty
Adventures with some happy smiles
Await this gamble-free cutie ???
Love and best wishes gamcare brothers and sisters.
