Hi. Thanks for your great message. I really appreciate it.

I have one thing to ask. I was with my girlfriend for six years, secretly planned to marry her in the future etc. During all that time, I was gambling and hid it apart from a couple of times. She loved me the whole time until the second time she found out and she said she didn't know me anymore at all. But me being a secretive, gambling addict and when she didn't know, she loved me with all those mannerisms and bad habits. I'd be an obviously a better person if I could stop. But she loved me when I had a demon in my mind. Do you know what I mean?

Anyway she's not gonna come back to me and that's worse than any amount of money lost.

There are 3 big elements that enable people to gamble. The elements are as follow:

1. Time

2. Money

3. Opportunities

If you take two more elements from here, as a result, you won't able to gamble.

I agree. But sometimes you still can. For example in work I have gambled when really that shouldn't come under time or opportunity.

Perhaps, you can gamble if you let the Chimp take over your life.

Realistically, if everything are in place then you'll not be able to gamble.

1. Money

If you had only the bear essentials that cover your living cost for the month, such as rent, council tax, utilities bills, food etc. The remaining of the salary is secured elsewhere and had no access to it.

2. Time

If your days are filled with counter productive activities, therefore, the gambling thoughs wouldn't cross your mind. Try reading a novel in one night, etc

3. Opportunities

Just imagine that you existed in 1920, where no mobile phone, no computers etc. Do you think gambling will be on top of your to do list?

Third one is a great point. It's the easy access for everyone that's a killer. I do agree.

Take away the opportunity to gamble will lead to full recovery in no time.

Did you know for a gambler usually affects 9 other people at minimum. You're talking about grandparents, on bother sides etc. You're not only ruined your life with nasty addiction.

I didn't know that. I know I've ruined my ex girlfriends life. Not financially but more emotionally.
