Hi Blondie,

Sounds like you have had an emotional few days, I know it must be tough but sometimes after these events it feels like we can breathe freer and deeper than before.

Thanks again for the tune on my diary, it helped me as well as others and has clearly inspired you.

I loved the film clip you posted too, I must have seen that movie 12 times already and I could watch it again right now. The final clip about hope reminded of one of my favourite scenes especially as it was about hope and music too.

I know we can't compare having an gambling addiction to being in jail but those words really live with me,

'there ARE places in the world that aren't made out of stone,

there is something inside they can't get to, they can't touch

it is yours'

No matter how hard the gambling demon grips us, we will always have that burning inside.

Hiya Chuck..

felt a weight lift off my shoulders after reading your post so i can only imagine how you feel hun..well done and who knows Blondie??.....it may unblock a lot more than you think and your chappies placee may also start to move....funny how life works.

SOoo pleased to hear of your breakthrough and for some reason only known to me I never knew your man didnt know ..I have no idea where I got that from..so it also came as a surprise to me too....exellent hun for being so courageous....

Maybe now a lot of things will fall into place without any forcing of solutions ,,but just finding a natural level....I have a virtal gut feeling this will be the case.

Soon to be Manch bound...and yes I have spied 3 places all a 4.50 a day. all near to MEN arena and also "underneath the arrrrches".....was just about to do a cockney geezer waddle...

Train still looking good but am going to do a combo of both ..few days train and few days car to break it up.

Out on Deansgate on Saturday night on a leaving doo of the woman whose job im taking...should be good...about 15 of us!!! meal and wine bar.

Onwards hun and upwards...can feel you are unblocked and now things will move at a fast pace.

R and D xxx(((((())))))

Yo,

Well well well..........

Look at you, standing tall and what's that glow and did I notice a slightly longer length to that smile ?

Could it be that your took your secrets out of that big carrier bag , laid them bare , and chucked the bag in the bin.

Yes sireeeere. Well done for taking that step.

, it took such bravery . As for your man, looks like the stars were right with there prediction.

Seriously though, everyday you seem to be gaining momentum away from the life you had to the life you deserve .( both of you me thinks)

Can not tell you how happy this makes me 🙂

day 150

Thank you so much everyone for all your posts its always really appreciated. x

So today im stopping counting.. The days do not seem important now whats important is my continued recovery.

I had 2 light bulb moments on this site just today one from Russ i think and the other duncs..

Ive realised that warts an all im becoming more comfortable with myself, Im not aiming for perfection any more just progression. Each step i take to change my thinking is a step further away from gambling .

Im so releived that the people I love and care about now know about my addiction it seems to have taken away the power of the dirty secret, it seems to have released some of the shame I felt and i know i have there love and support to continue and thats all that matters.

There are still lots of things that I think i need to purge out of my system to finally catapulte me forward but i have time on my side and i know it will come.

This is a lifetime commitment which might scare some people but i dont see it as a life time commitment to resist gambling, i see it as a life time commitment to me, to becoming a better person.. Why wouldnt you invest in that. !

I feel like i have fought the demons and am ready for the next phase.... Hence the diary name change....

Get busy living... or get busy dying.. !!!

So here's to the next phase. !

Don't blame you stopping the counting, it'll get a bit tiring when you have to type "Day 6,498...".

Good to catch you in chat tonight.

Stay strong and free of gambling.

Blondie.

A celebration, one of which I feel so important of an addiction harnessed, an addiction were by and large numbers play such a dominant role, whilst at it we as compulsive gamblers obsess over numbers and there sequence.so today the bare fact is the importance is only to measure the distance we put between us and our compulsion to chase them.

These light bulb days come to our end, we control those numbers, they are our destiny, no longer a tool this addiction uses to beat us with.

Today my dear friend simply well done from me to you, it feels like we have the keys let's keep unlocking those doors and stepping through.

Just for today. The choice is ours.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Inspired.

Hey chic, thank you for your post on mine. I'm very glad things have settled down for you, don't envy you the situation with housing but for some reason I have a feeling that it will work itself out. That you are ready to stop counting is significant I think because to me at least it would mean that days with no gambling have now become the norm which in itself is a massive achievement!

Hope daughters and Woody are well. 🙂 x

Hi Blondie

Well done on the 150 days and more importantly where u r now to where u were is what counts , ur life as changed now for the better and will only to continue so

I relate to the not counting now at the beginning it was important esp in setting targets and short term goals but now the understanding of why we gambled and the damage it can cause us is installed in us and there's no need to go back to those awful times

Take care

Hi Oh Blonde One....

Great to see you shifting through the gears...

Just to say thanks for your words the other day, they make a lot of sense, and whilst I am not going to be full on on here, like before, i am going to use it as the distraction as you suggested... it is right for me at the moment... so , once again.. Thanks.

Morning,

Huge well done from the serial counter for passing that 150 days. Here is one for you to smile about, Mr Flagg is considering stopping the daily count too!!!! Shock horror. My aim is 183 days and then I think I may just do a weekly count. In some ways the 1 day at a time count seems to be slowing even though life remains rapid. It doesn't make sense and I really need sense lol!

So, you move on to the next phase 🙂 I remember you first logging in and reading the early posts. In GA not enough people return after week 1 or week 2 but when they do keep coming you can see the difference in their face. I cannot see your face but I can guarantee 100% if I could their would be a massive change in you. You are a perfect example of a life turned round and by staying here it can only get better and better.

5 months ago you needed support, inspiration, and a new life. Today you are support, you are an inspiration, and you are proof a new life can be found, led, and loved!

Flagg
