Hi thanks for your post on my diary. And yes I have been filling my spare time as best I can. With the weather being nice my dog has never had as many walks anything I can do to fill my spare time I have been doing.

I was reading through your diary and noticed a lot of similarities to myself. I am wanting to tell my wife about my gambling but she is pregnant with our 2nd child so like you I don't want to put the strain on her. Also when you tried to control you're betting after a long time out you found you were unable to this is the same for me I suppose complete abstinence is the only way. The one big difference I have to you is my debt is a lot larger but I'm coming to terms with that now and bit by bit with various cutbacks am hoping to start chipping away at it. Thanks again for your encouragement and hope your gamble free days keep going.

Adam.

I have battered my way through a month without gambling. I am glad I put a stop to the rot as I would only have lost even more money if I had continued speculating on the horse racing. The way things were going, I would probably have lost over £2,000 during the last month. I do not have that kind of money to burn, but when I am in the gambling groove credit cards, personal loans and overdraft extensions all seem very sensible. I have just under £6,000 worth of gambling debt around my neck, but I hope to nail it down to £5,000 by the end of this month. I will then have six months to pay off the rest - I want to be debt free by 25th December. Here we go.
