How do i stop, when I want to stop but actually like playing slot machines, I also like to watch on line streamers or other people, Hoping they win.
I need to stop, i want to stop or do I?
I want to stop I am so tired of having no money, not being able to do anything,
I just listed all my debts for a SC vetting form and in shock at how many loans I have taken out.
If I can stay clear then i will be debt free by end of next year but how can I do that when if I am really honest I like to play the machines.
This is silly been here before worked for a bit but when something happens instead of talking I run to a machine and use it as an excuse then.
Hi Terry,
My name is Hannah and I volunteer for GamCare as a peer supporter. I volunteer because I supported my husband through gambling troubles but as nobody has seen your post as yet, I will have a go at sharing my thoughts, although they may not be useful.
Regarding your love of slots...I think that the feelings you have described sound normal to me for someone in your situation and they are just part of the process of saying goodbye to something you have loved a bit too much. I guess we don't quit things because we don't like them. You sound a bit torn right now like you just need a little bit of time to work out your thoughts and feelings. I wonder if calling the GamCare helpline and talking things over may help you to work things out.
The thought of being debt free in just 1 year sounds amazing and like you could forge such a positive future for yourself. That time will fly by and what a stress off of your shoulders it would be in 1 years time. What springs to my mind is imagine instead of 1 year until being debt free, it was 5 years, now 10, now 15, now 25. That sounds pretty scary. What im trying to say but I am probably messing it up, is that I think that if it were me in your shoes, when I felt drawn back to the slots, I think I would try to visualise what my life would look and feel like further down the line if my gambling continued as it was and the debts continued to grow. I would really try to actually visualise being all those years away from being debt free and how that would feel. The slots just aint worth the road they may take you down.
I doubt that any of that is helpful but hopefully others will see your post soon.
Oh and well done on getting through day 1.

Hi terry
I feel your pain. I've been gambling for as long as I remember.
All we okay but moving abroad (Spain) i has access to online casinos without restrictions and bonus buys. I've got really carried away over the last 6 months and have emptied my savings account (40k ish) and I'm down to 2k left !!!
So like you, day one is today for me.
Not sure how I'm going to do this but listening to stuff on Spotify and giving hypnosis a go.
I can't go to meetings due to my occupation as being a known gambler would impact my suitability for my job.
Maybe we can encourage each other to keep of the slots
I would definitely recommend downloading the Gamban app on your devices as it blocks all off-shore gambling companies, the ones that Gamstop doesnt reach. If you're going in store to play slots I would also recommend using the MOSES scheme to block yourself from stores. I couldn't stop for 10 years, and now I'm 3 months gamble free after putting all of this in place.
HI Al
l Thank you for your comments, I need to spend some time here over the next few days removed link
Need to try to focus on other things,
