Well I’ve never considered my self to have strong will power... I’m usually the type of person who gives up or gives in within a day or so but I know this time this is not an option as the future seemed very dim.I’m now hitting the 1 week mark and it’s not been a walk in a park but it’s has been a lot easier than I expected! I’ve been trying to keep as busy as possible which has obviously made things extremely easier I’ve started reading ( only ever finished one book in my life lol) I’ve been drawing/colouring, cleaning, watching films etc. I find the worst time is late at night and sometimes when I wake up in the morning I have to remember gambling is a no go today just a quick reminder to myself. When I see adverts pop up on the television for gambling I seem to get that strong urge but I’m determined not to give into that urge , I can’t I’m not only doing this for myself I’m doing it for my loved ones too! The reassuring thing for me is I have everything set in place I have my first support session over the phone Tuesday and I also have gamstop and gamban in place.  I must admit when I do get the bad urges my mind is telling me just create an account in a family relatives name blah blah blah  but I have to tell myself these are just thoughts and they do not control me!
Here’s too another week gamble free as I’m motivated and determined to never look back and not give in this time! ** so f you urges** ?

Hi! Well done on your achievements so far! It is important to stay focused on your goals, like you quoted i too have terrible will power, but nothing is as strong willed as i am now to beat my addiction!

Adam x

Keep going Adam! I’ve been trying to do this for a while and each time haven’t had much success with deposit limits etc but this time I’ve realised there only is ever one winner in gambling and that’s  the casino. This is now something I have stuck in my head and won’t let it leave ? well done on starting your recovery and keep us updated 🙂

It's all about determination and proving to yourself there is more to life than a screen with numbers!

Stay strong ?
