Nice post on Delgirls diary...100% true..I wish I could of explained it in a simple way like that....It is exactly how I feel...A bit messed up, bitter and twisted with emotions...Without the temptation to gamble!!

Easy li£e.

Thanks everyone. Day 99 since my last gamble of any kind. I'm not counting days anymore but sometimes I can't help myself, its a motivational thing.

I thought I was gonna have lots to say today as its been 3 days since I last posted in my own diary, which is unusual for me. But nope am stuck for words. No gambling problems. Thats it folks.. S.A 🙂

Hi SA, thanks for your post. I think you may have opened up an earlier part of my diary. My trip to Vegas was last year....I'm pleased to say I didn't gamble. Would I ever go back there....I don't think so. I hope your injury clears up. You must be desperate to get back out there. Keep strong Russ

Hi S.A

Wow- tomorrow 100 days. Well done! That's a great achievement in my book. I think it's ok to count days if it helps.

thanks for making me laugh on my diary, you are still as daft as a brush! but that qualifies you to apply for super-star status. Shall I send you the forms?

Thanks guys and gal.. and yes here I am again at the 100 day point. 🙂

Has it been difficult to not gamble I ask myself??

Mostly not, just a couple of occasions where I could feel the urge within, but they passed. I didn't have to act on them. I chose not to gamble.

Must admit that am quite surprised that I haven't struggled a bit more.. cos am experincing quite alot of the potential triggers that Freda posted about in OPG.. these being money worries, time on my hands, times of depression and anxiety, isolating myself etc etc

But somehow I new that i would cope as long as i just continued to take each day as it came and dealt with lifes problems one by one as they came along and did not panic... just chilled.

Good things come to those that wait. Good things come to those that put in the spade work and build up the foundations first.

Its like my computer course. Its something thats gonna take a while, several months in fact to learn what i need to learn. But thats ok.. learn a little something each week. Today I learnt about merging documents which i didn't have a clue about before. I may also have some news on the job front this week though i will say no more about it until and if things are confirmed.

As for my running. Well am still going through a very slow process of recovery but am not being daft and trying to run before i can walk type thing. Am pretty sure its inflammed tendons. And although I miss running loads I am coping. Am gonna go swimming sometime this week just to get the heart rate up a bit and get rid of alittle of the exmas excesses.

So all in all after the first 100 days things are ok and improving. Ive very much got my long term hat on. I don't need the thrill of trying for a quick fix. I can live without all that nonsense. A calmer and quieter way of living and being without the hell that is gambling addiction. Thanks for listening.. S.A 🙂

P.s As i red somewhere else in the diaries. If it means that i have a million pages of this diary but I don't gamble then thats worth every page... thats for sure!

Super positive post mate. Well done on the 100 days but as you say dealing with this on a day at a time makes this much easier--each day is a short term goal and before you know it you have racked up 100 days!!

Keep on doing what you are doing as it is working well for you--fingers crossed on the job front.

All the best

You're doing the right thing, waiting until you are fully fit before taking to the pavements again.

You really don't want to aggravate anything.

Thanks folks... another day passing gambling free.

Well it looks like I will be working in a day centre maybe starting next week. Went there today to do some form filling. The positives is that its a 20 minute walk from my front door and its day hours. I musn't focus on the negatives. Phoned my sister to try and get my negative thinking and attitude out my system and felt a bit better for doing so.

yes Gt I await full recovery of my leg.. alas said leg just hurts after ive walked for a while though I think its a bit better. I went swimming last night. first piece of exercise for a month. I will go once or twice a week.

I guess thats the way to look at my life.. things getting a bit better one day at a time. Am not feeling great in myself today though i must admit.... but this to shall pass. Thanks for listening.. S.A
