Day 232 without a single penny gambled.

Am feeling better today. The come down yesterday from running and alcohol wasn't nice. I was most depressed but that's gone now. Work has been fine, no dramas, just trying to avoid being burnt to a crisp. Ive never really been a cap wearer but they are very useful when the sun blazes down all day and your outside all day.

Anyway no gambling problems. Historically this last weekend I would have gambled either a. when I was drunk or b. as a mood enhancer the day after (in my distorted mind anyway). But I didn't so progress being made. Thanks for listening folks... S.A 🙂

The sun is up that's for sure. Later it will go down.

P.s I see it clearly now but my gambling has always been an "emotional response" to how I feel about myself at any given moment and nothing to do with money.

Having said that, when in action, i'd tell you that its all about money and winning lots and lots of money.

233 days without a single penny gambled.

Another day passing gambling free. Am really enjoying the weather. Ive been going for an early morning cycle before it gets too warm. Sets the day up nice it does.

Work was fine, no dramas today. Even managed to get to hair dressers six seconds before they closed and have a short smart cut. A swim is a must later on.

Anyhow that's me folks. Thanks for listening... S.A 🙂

All I can say is you must be related to Iron Man to go cycling in this heat. Just been driving today has been torture as no air conditioning in my old jalopy. Please can you make the sun just come up a little less over my houseboat as currently could be rented out as a sauna.

Sounded happy today and glad things are good for you.

Day 235 gambling free.

Hard work emotionally today. Am driving along in hot sunshine getting drivers sunburn on one arm and sweating like a pig whilst trying to manage the behaviour of the client sitting next to me and chatting to a new staff about stuff. At moments it all gets a bit much and my brain just kinda shuts down and I go into a trance like state... quite like sitting at a slot machine for 6 hours.

Phrases that come to mind include "sensory overload" and "trans-marginal inhibition" (google it)

Anyways am fine now, home drinking coffee. I twill chill this eve and do not very much. No gambling thoughts. Thanks for listening... S.A 🙂

Day 236

A good day today. Work went smoothly and had an enjoyable cycle and swim this evening. Iv'e just been reading a few back posts and I notice that I haven't had a visual migraine and the slightly scary spaced out feelings that go with it since June 24th.

I guess my stress levels have come down a bit since then. Thinking about it perhaps its because I haven't done any treadmill running. Its like a lot of the time (but not all) my health scares seem to occur after short intense runs on the treadmill at the gym. It seems like sudden intense exercise of this type triggers something to happen in my brain.

You'd think that running the half-marathon in warm sunshine and then getting drunk would have triggered my health problems, but it didn't. Maybe its because its slower pace over longer time frame. That seems to make sense to me but am only guessing. The human body is a complex organism. Well mine is anyway.

No gambling thoughts. Am doing just fine. Thanks for listening folks... S.A 🙂

Day 237

Thanks Viggo.

I decided to cycle into Brum today along the canals. Once there I had a few beers and cycled back again which was kind of fun... £4.60 for a pint of Peroni..its a lot isn't it! Wouldn't have been an option if I was gambling. I treated myself.

No gambling thoughts but just checking in like I do. very tired now. Bedtime. Thanks for listening folks... S.A 🙂

I did live in London for years Rach but moved up Brum way when I went into rehab.

Iv'e actually managed to have a lie in but am still very tired. That cycle has done me in but I did enjoy it. More later... thanks for listening.. S.A
