Hi Freda.. thanks for dropping in.. hope you enjoyed your duvet day.. sod the washing up lol.. your doing well 🙂

Another day dawns gambling free.. but then its not quite dawn.. nearly mid-day now. I didn't wake up till 10.30.. very unusual for me. I had very vivid dreams as well. Its two things.. one; ive put the heating on and two; I had 3 strong lagers yesterday. The beer makes a huge difference to me.. am feeling groggy today but thats ok. Off out tonight as well a meal with Ga group so will prob be worse for where tomorrow to.

Thats all for today.. no gambling issues. Keep safe all.. S.A 🙂

Another day dawns gambling free. Surprisingly I feel absolutely fine. I was expecting a mild hangover but hasnt materialised 🙂 I guess thats the thing of having a few drinks with a meal last night.

Am gonna do some xmas shopping today.. now thats sure to put me in a bad mood lol.. but atleast i have the money to be able to do it. Even working part-time I have enough money not to get all stressed about it. If I was gambling it wouldnt matter how much money I was earning I'd still lose the lot.

Have an enjoyable gambling free day everyone. Regards... S.A 🙂

Dear SA

I think you went into rehab with the Gordon Moody organization.

Can you tell me if it is difficult to get in? - ie a long waiting list etc.

I'm asking for my son.

Thanks, Margaret.

Hi Margaret... am afraid I don't know if there is a waiting list. Phone them up and ask. If your son has a strong resolve and motivation not to gamble anymore am sure that the process can go quickly... it did for me. The sooner he fills the forms in and sends them back the better. all the best.. S.A

Thank you for your prompt reply. As you say, the most important thing is my son's motivation - sadly he has probably not reached the stage of REALLY wanting to change. It is heart-breaking to witness.

Thanks again and best wishes,

Margaret

Thanks Del.. pressie shopping continues and then to stage two.. wrapping. My nephew has a voucher for a toy shop but i also wanted him to have something to unwrap and see immediately so i got him so milky bar buttons.. trouble is a once in 1000 year event has happened.. ive eaten them Lol I don't know how it happened they just kinda opened up and forced there way into my gob.. ho hum 🙂

I was out last night with work for a curry. Nice evening, nice people, nice chat but as with the other night after the nosh i just wanted to go home and go to sleep. Its like a Lion on the prarie after enjoy its Wilderbeest.. and then having a nap under a shady tree. I'd of happilly taken a bean bag to the corner of the restaurant and curled up for a bit.. but alas polite society insists otherwise. Fortunately their was no clamour to go for a late one.. was home by ten nursing my belly. Ive put on a bit of weight lately.. I shall be down the gym later.

have just been doing the compare and contrast from this time last year and i see that am I am generally in a better headspace. No thoughts or urges to gamble. Keep safe everyone.. S.A 🙂

Hi Del... now restaurants and bedrooms cunjures up other thoughts lol 😉

Another day passing gambling free (573 of them in a row to be precise).. not struggle in anyway today. In fact am enjoying the cold weather. I like the sharp fresh feel on the face when out in the great outdoors.

However what i don't like is xmas shopping. I made the mistake of going into Borders the book shop (its gone bust, open till tuesday so i hear) and there i joined hundreds of others looking for a bargain. We were all like vultures picking over a dying animal.. didn't find anything though I just got annoyed with people getting in my way so i re-treated to the coffee shop.. which I shall miss.. a nice view out the window. As I made my way to the bus stop I had to fight my way through the masses.. I do feel for those of you with small children.. crying children at every turn.. nightmare.

In the past i'd of headed straight for some gambling hell hole to supposedly win some extra money for the presents. In reality though I just wanted the escape. I'd of blown the lot. I just wanted to be in action. Now i don't gamble I have enough money to buy presents.. so thats ok. Present shopping still does my head in though.

Can I let you all in to a secret. Yes, yes i hear you shout! Well last year I got some luxury hankerchiefs form M n S.. cant remember who from. Anyhow I stumbled across them yesterday still sitting in their packaging, totally unused, good as new. So you guessed it theyve been wrapped and past on to as a new xmas pressie to no doubt sit in a draw and do nothing and who knows maybe passed on to someone else. Am I bad? lol

Keep safe all... S.A 🙂

Hi SA,

Hey, I'm impressed you have sorted your Christmas pressies. Very organised S.A :-))

I hate the shops at the best of times but Christmas seems to bring out the worst in everyone...excessive buying....pushing...shoving...trolley rage. Give me online shopping any day.

I liked your post about going for a meal. Thing is with me when i go out i usually like a little/lot of booze...I'm not an alcoholic but love being drunky....if i have a meal it just ruins the booze affects and I too want to join you on that bean bag....and push the zzzzzzz's out.

You've done really well on your recovery S.A and I really enjoy reading and following your progress.

Thanks Jas.. your a star! 🙂

Another day passing gambling free.. and another xmas lunch eaten at work. Had a good work out down the gym this evening. managed 20 minutes on the tread mill.. a whole 3 km's.. long gone are the heady days of 20 km runs.. but progress slowly being made. I continue with my stretches and my injury continues to heal bit by bit.. slowly does it.

I notive ive really put on weight as well.. 34 inch jeans are a bit of a squash at the momet lol. anyways no gambling thoughts.. am stable enough at the moment which am usually not in the run up to xmas. take care all and keep safe.. S.A 🙂

Thanks v much starting again for my little comment on my diary. Means a lot to me to be fair. All the best over the festive period and you stay strong ODAAT gamble free. Massive achievement the length of time you have abstained for. Your jeans may get a little bit tighter over the festive period but a new yrs resolution of no gambling and exercise like mad(once ur injury is better) should see u right. Keep smiling 🙂
