Afternoon miss gym bunny
Thought I would pop by and say Hi.
It's good to see you doing so well
How is gym life treating you?
I'm currently on 22 day's straight
I think it gives me a bit more structure in my life.
As they say it's all about doing something different.

Have a great Sunday x

Day 117, still gf and will remain so. My dogs first birthday today, so she's had a couple of new toys, chicken dinner and lovely long walk. I'm so tired, went to the gym last night. Looking forward to being on my own for a week as other half is off soon on his annual skiing trip so today was lots of washing and making sure he has everything. Almost over the cold I had last week. I'm sat here drinking coffee and enjoying the peacefulness, several months ago I would have had my lap top on my lap, mesmerised by the reels spinning and praying for a bonus round, and when and if they came in saying to the screen please god let this be good. How stupid this seems now, if it wasn't for the money lost and debts I'm paying off I would swear it was a bad dream I had. I'm coming through the fog, every day there is a little less. X

Such a lovely uplifting post....I've a long way to go but I'm having occasional 'moments' of peace... thank you for sharing.

M x

Hi Anon, thanks for your feedback on my diary. It was good to hear your thoughts.

I see good recovery signs everywhere for you. You have healthy, fulfilling, rewarding things in your life - a pet, targets and goals on the fitness front, appreciating and enjoying the positive changes you are experiencing. All great signs and medicine to keep the gambling demon sedated.

Nice one! x x

Morning anon.

I've not used a pt but I believe there sole purpose is to dog you.

I think a lot of people join the gym and are disappointed if they don't lose weight.
What people tend to miss is if your working out you're gaining muscle. Where as a pound of fat is almost half as big as your forearm. A pound of muscle is the size of the flesh on your hand under your thumb.
So you will most likely put on weight in muscle and your body will tone. Best not to weight yourself. But measure yourself its more accurate
Gotta run breaks over. Have a great day x

Day 121 almost over. Still gf and will remain so. So met with personal trainer yesterday and left feeling like I'd been punched all over after doing 3 sets of 20 on various machines and weights, so tonight did cardio and 5 miles. Watched some poor sods standing outside William (steep incline) smoking and looking stressed as I drove through town this evening. Such a frustrating week at work, colleague got abused today by a patient when asked if he thought it warranted the call of an ambulance for a stubbed toe, yes a stubbed bloody toe. what planet are some people on, it costs £250 to send an ambulance not to mention another person could die whilst attending to a time waster! Few months ago the work week I'm having would have tempted me to gamble but not anymore. staying strong, positive and focused x best wishes to all on this journey x

Day 124, not long got up, needed a rest after the busy frustrating week. Another pay day has been and chipped away at some more of the debt, it's still depressing but I know that no win on the slots is going to solve it, hence we would not be on this site or in debt because of an addiction and greedy casinos, websites, bookies etc., it can take minutes/hours to loose thousands but years to pay back and learn what was the driver that took us down that path. Sometimes a painful path but one in which we have to face if we want to remain gf. Best wishes on this journey x

I think it's time I had a new title as I know there is no pill, it's blocks, will power, support amongst other things. So from the first 1st Feb 2017 I shall have a new diary, not sure what the title will be yet, will, have to put some thought to it. off to my parents to check on them and moms Sunday roast x

A sunday roast.... drooling here ha !

I liked the title... purely because it shows how initially we wish for an immediate cure and know this is impossible

so we have to face facts the hard way.

Have a great time today x

Burst into tears for that lady you spoke of on my diary. What a tough emotional case for you and how bloody awful and tragic x

Puts it all into perspective. Enjoy your day off, you have come so far x

I am also pleased you have not renamed or made a new diary as the title is very powerful as its what we all wish for

a quick fix/recovery... It highlights how far you have come since feeling the fear and kicking this addiction x

PS please post me one of your mums roast dinners hahaha xx

Another vote from me to keep your Diary title....It really does express what many of us have wished for myself included!

125 Days is an accomplishment to be proud of and your posts are so positive, you are walking the walk and the support you give to others is to be commended.

Keep doing what you're doing....Take care.

M x

I'm not a believer in starting a new diary but that's your choice it's nice to be able to look back both for you and us. You can just edit the name if you wish to have a new title.
