Congrats on 27 days.

Keeping yourself busy is the best way to stop gambling. I also wonder how I used to have the time to gamble!

Keep going. X

27 days, on reflection the days are clocking up fast. Changing the way you think about things has def helped me. I've completed 4 jigsaw puzzles, read 2 books for pleasure and 3 pieces of law. I'm sleeping better therefore I'm sharper at work, the headaches have gone. The benefits to being gf on my well being are endless. I know I cannot and will not play those online slots again. I've never and would never go and play in a bookies or games arcade and I've never been a member of a casino so with will power and blocks in place I should be able to continue to beat this. I know I will feel even better when the debts are all paid. I have learnt through reading lots of stories on here that the addiction can strike anyone at any given time, it does not care what background you come from, what level of intelligence you have as long as you keep feeding it - Therefore you have to starve it

Thanks for stopping by on my diary Anon. 27 days is great. You seem to be coping with it well. Keeping yourself busy is a big thing, and reading your last post it seems you've been doing that.

It will be 50 days before you know it!

Day 28 and been busy . Got paid today and paid bills, last night was the first eve before payday that I wasn't waiting for midnight for my salary to go in so that I could play the awful evil slots! By this time in the past I could have been between 300-500 down. Staying strong , keeping busy and no real urges. X

Well almost day 28 over and going into 29, still going strong and feeling fab. I think bit by bit the old me is coming back , I'm laughing and joking at work and at home. I don't get so stressed over little things because I'm not constantly thinking about getting the money back I lost. My face must look better as someone asked me today if I had done something different as I looked so well. Couldn't say to them I've stopped gambling that's probably why I don't look haggered any more! Today the weather was not that good but in my world it felt really bright, it really is like someone has put the light on. I now understand what they mean when they talk about the gambling fog clearing.

Morning whoop whoop day 29 feeling good, no urges. Working from home today which in the past would have been a problem as I would have kept being drawn onto the slots in between working. IVe got the willpower and as added back up blocks in place so I couldn't even if I wanted to. Got to start now , my minds fresh just as well as I'm writing a legal document , catch up,later x

Midmorning and having a coffee break, had TV on in the background whilst working on this document and up pops an advert for a well known bingo site with a well known actress promoting it and two ladies sitting on a bench with their mobiles saying YES and jumping for joy (clue) as it makes you think they have just won (by now some may have guessed who the ad is from) whilst it didn't make me want to gamble as I'm trianing my brain to think differently I just imagined those two ladies sitting their crying because they had gambled all their money away and had no money left to last the month, pay bills, buy food etc., If the government was really serious on helping people who are addicted they would stop the adverts on TV (the way they did with cigs years ago) or they would create an advert showing the effects of gambling on family friends the person themselves. Gambling changes lives just the same as getting a chronic disease/terminal illness. I really do not feel that the government does enough - anyway those are my thoughts - I'm rambling on - coffee break over x

Hi Anon , your so right, alway's shows the smiling faces of happy people alway's winning , I'm sure they could be done for misleading adverts , you know something thst's not what it seems ? .

Would be nice to have the money to fight a test case and get them into court ? Ooooooh ! got me thinking now and that's always dangerous :)) .

Until then we need to ignore them and focus on our own wellbeing !!.

Have a great day and well done on getting to your first month gamble free :))

Pmsl , I was so annoyed when I came in from shopping earlier but I'm crying with laughter now, you have a wicked sense of humour. Any way I shall tell you why I was annoyed, my lips are sore so I bought some flavoured lip balm, when I got it back home and took the lid off some XXXXX had stuck their finger in it, hence its in the bin , the money is not the point it was only a couple of pounds, it's the inconvenience and my lips are still sore! Rant over.

Yeah I know , there's nothing more annoyimg than finding a finger in your lip balm , however a Toe print in your " Philly Cheese " rates a close second :((

Glad it made you laugh and thanks for sharing your lip balm story :))

xx
