Thanks Balvaird, Sandra, ginge and Steve,

Good Saturday morning diary,

Chilling this morning (still in Jim jams lol) OH at work, no family round, (yet) no viewings today (good) so it's a day when I can do just what I feel like doing for me, no plans, will take the day as it comes, this would just not have been posiible for me when in the grip of gambling, but it is today, my addiction simply hate that I love it,

Wishing everyone a happy, positive and strong gambling free day.

Suzanne xx

Nothing original to add to the assorted accolades for reaching 500 days but you are an inspiration.

Good morning cheeky!!

Stilletto's indeed!! lol ;0)

Well, I have to admit I didnt think I'd ever get to 300 days, when I first tried to stop gambling 7+ years ago. As my relapse rate was so frequent, I never knew if I actually wanted to stop, and/or I was just kind of playing with recovery. Mainly because I still wanted the control.

Things are different now. In fact, I'd actually pat myself on the back if it wasn't so painful to attempt that manoeuvre at present, as my sternum wont quite allow me to!!

Keep strong hun

You're an inspiration

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for your input. I'm really glad you are continuing to feel strong in your recovery.

One thing that occurred to me when catching up with your diary, is that if you have felt inferior within your family, you might be finding it hard to have people look round your home? Because it is your home, your personal space, and strangers are sort of coming round to look at it, and in a way, judge it. Do you see what I mean? The low offer you got could have felt like an insult to you, like you are not worth what you think you are. I don't know if this is making any sense, but if it resonates a bit, maybe be mindful of it. Could one day be a subtle trigger that you sort of don't notice, because it's not an obvious one.

I am not looking forward to selling my property for the same reason. It seems, particularly in this climate, an opportunity for people to try to take the piddle out of you. Like you, we won't be biting. We will wait until we get what the place is worth, more or less. I think you are too strong at present to let things like this upset you, as you seemed to take that in your stride.

I can relate to what you say about your place within your family. My brothers are very weird to me, as though I'm not human like other people, and don't deserve any respect. One of my brothers added my now ex-husband as a friend on Facebook, but not me. This is apparently a normal thing to do, in his world. Bizarre behaviour, and quite nasty, really. As if I don't exist. This was years ago when we were first married, not since we broke up. I think that's when he really understood for the first time how f****d up the way my family treat me, is. The first time he'd been directly involved in it. In, like, an episode of bullying.

Anyway, I'm rambling, but for different reasons I understand not feeling good enough or valued by your family, and I'm sorry we share that pain. It's sh ite! lol.

Nothing but love,

f x

Good morning diary,

513 days today and not even one single penny spent on any form of gambling,

My tax refund cleared on Monday and was sitting in my account, yes of course the niggles came, 20,50 or even 100 won't hurt, you have money in the bank now, you don't need a Payday loan to play, was expecting this, and to be honest was not too worried or stressed about it because I had already planned where to put this money (out of harms way lol) and I did,

No luck with the house sale yet, what do folks want a brand new house, well if they do, they should be looking at brand new houses lol. Even this is not stressing me at this time, but as for my patience, still work in progress. must stop trying to rush my life away, life is too short as it is, I know I have to take the bull by the horns at times, but recovery has taught me to take one day at a time, am applying this method with my patience :))))

Wishing everyone a positive, strong and self believing gambling free day.

Suzanne xx
