Hi Suzanne,

Well done for saying NO to more work hours. Ive been something of a people pleaser all my life and saying NO doesn't come easy. So well done to you.

As for feeling low, its like you say, it tends to pass quite quickly when we are not gambling. I had a very bad day on Monday but today ive bounced back and feel very much better. Ones emotional health is a strange beast.

Take care and thanks for your support as always... S.A 🙂

Hi Suzanne thanks for dropping by on my diary, a massive hug ((((( )))) back to you !! The words you speak are so correct, I still have a lot in my life but ............................ you know the feelings of I had a lot more and lost it ................................. its like you have been robbed in a clever way. I know I chose to play, I was aware of the risks I guess, but as we all know when you start the chasing the red mist decends ................... you become not yourself. However a night of cv writing ahead, I need to get away from these run-down northern towns full of bookies, where no-one else can make a living anymore. Hope you have a good night, how's the house sale going, anymore interest? - Paul xx

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for your words. Family's eh? You're right...like us, my sister didn't choose addiction. Unlike us, she's not ready to stop and take the steps necessary to recover. I can only hope that one day she will be ready and that when that day comes I can be there to support her along the way...as long as I don't strangle her before then 😉

I hope you're well. Did your son get the biopsy results yet? I'm assuming no news is good news.

Have a good day, abstaining and maintaining!

LB x

Good morning diary.

FRUSTRATION, has been my thoughts this week, with my son, he won't listen, mind you the mood on here from diarists the last couple of days has also detected frustration in some of their posts.:)

The first two weeks of January I think are the longest and most depressing weeks of the year, and negativity and frustration raises its ugly head, (with me anyway) it's hard to keep positive all the time, but I keep pushing for it lol.

We can't change other people, no matter how dedicated we are to do so, and other people can't change us,but we can change ourselves, and this is a good positive, because if we change our ways, it does rub off on others,

No urges in real life, but one bad dream about winning big, ;((. but I am winning big, even at just a tenner a day over 621 days kept in my purse makes an enormous difference, lol, still working on my mindset, but that is going to take time, every single emotion I experience I know can be a trigger, out of the blue, so I will just keep taking small steps one day at a time with everything and that is OK, Spring will soon be here and that sure is a positive.

Wishing everyone a strong, positive and happy gambling free day.

Suzanne xx

Hi Suzanne... yes it is a tough time of year I agree. I guess we just hunker down and get on with it.

Like you say we can only change ourselves. What other people do is down to them.

Keep finding the positive, it rubs off on me, a little bit, hopefully 😉

take care... S.A 🙂

Hello Suzanne,

Thx for the post. Your support to others is top notch!

Am guessing the aftermath of the pressures of xmas and NY, with the S***e weather too boot can get the best of people down.

I tend to follow a few people on these diarys and I do aplaud you.

Something that touched me on a post you sent to WCID on the f&f section was regarding your pops and his battle with cancer. Really did highlight what a caring soul you are. Was wondering though, whether your descent from a fun gambler too a compulsive gambler coincided during them difficult times.

No need to answer. Take care

Hi S,

Keep spewing gal! It's good to clear our minds ☺

Have ya ever thought of changing that purse to the suitcase? 😉
You are doing more than great, keep fighting, keep believing & being kind to yourself!

One day at a time indeed.

Have a good Sunday! Enjoy the spring cleaning (never to early to start that 😉 )

Morning. Kids eh? Why won't they do what they're told?! Let's hope it doesn't have to get repeated. It can't be noce for him having it done. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope you've had a good weekend, and can look forward to a good week ahead.
