Hi Post,

I hope you are doing ok today and that progress is being made in your relationship with your kids and your ex. You know we are all right behind you mate.

Bet you were gutted earlier with England winning, right up until the time when we got the Germans. I am trying to be a positive as possible, but you can't help but feel an air of inevitability about the whole thing.

Stay Strong

Steve

Hi wp

Your diary is yours to write about what you want. How your ex is with you, affects the way you feel - therefore affects your recovery. Its all related.

Your parents love you, and its not bad at all that you only have a card. You working your recovery well, is a wonderful present for any parent! Remember this feeling, and resolve to have a present next year. Ive a feeling you will do.

Take care,

f x

Hi wp.

Hope you have a great day at your mums.

My mum isn't too far off 70 herself -68.

If i'm not wrong think your about the same age as myself as i seen from an earlier post on my diary from you.The big 40 is closing in on me.

You mention that diary(i've read it) think seanos right.Don't let it get to you mate...but i understand why you felt that way.

Main thing is you and how well your doing on your gamble front and that you know your on the right road...it will take time, but how would our life be now if we had'nt taken these positive steps forward.

So don't mind that other diary and just let them keep convincing themselves that they can beat this no matter how much money they keep losing on a daily basis.

wp.With all that you have been through lately i think its great to see you moving forward no matter what...fair play!

Take care mate and stay strong gamble free!

Viggo.

Hi wp,

As Seano says mate it is your own recovery that is most important. If you manage to help others along the way (which you do) then that is a bonus. You can lead a horse to water mate.

Keep on keeping on mate.

Hi Winning,

I hope your Ma has a lovely birthday.

Try not to worry too much about diaries on here. When I first came to this site I used to get really wound up with some diaries. I recognised I was recovering and was being over sensitive and I also recognised I needed to use the diaries in order to help myself. You are doing a grand job in your recovery....it's one of the hardest jobs in the world too!

Keep going, don't let anything get in your way.

Hope things are going well in Jockland. Cherish your parents as they can never be replaced.

Curly is right about you can lead a horse to water but a pencil has to be lead!!

Hope you are able to escape back over the border soon mate.

Thanks all for your amazing support...had a good day yesterday wi my parents..we ended up with a nice carvery.,been a busy couple days when got back last night got keys to the new flat to which ive basically threw everything into a heap for now as got some overtime in today as well...overtime tomorrow and sunday, just got to keep head down and when i get spare minutes will place everything into some sort of order..my dad has also got an operation next week so im hoping to ferry my mother bacj and fro from hospital so the flat and work can wait for now (ave got a sister who lives close by my parents but hope to take some of the strains of her as shes got family too) ....ex says its not good for bairns not seeing them for over 9 days as next friday us my next day off...probably agree there but been suggested tonight that for the kids to see the full benefits ive ti be round at least 4 times a week..how can that be done on my shift patterns especially as i need the overtime to cover the mortgage as well as this rented flat, i simply do not know yet what a change from last weeks attitude..i just cant work you women out lol....its newcastles busiest racing festival this weekend..am pleased to say ive no interest whatsoever but had a wee chuckle ti myself tonight when i realised maybe 2 or 3 year ago tonight i won a few hundred quid on a race off the exchanges where i picked out a horse blind from one of the dailly newspapers (won 20/1 lol) i picked up off my train which forecasted it as one of the favourites only to blow the lot the next day...how scatterbrained i was in gambling it goes to show how lucky and stupid i was transfixed by it all..,anyways today i did not bet tomorrow i wont bet we can do this my friends 🙂

Hi wp,it was great chatting to you last night again mate....,many thanks for the job info!!!,it is certainly one step forward and three back for you with your ex!!!,as we discussed last night it takes a long time for us to get in the position we find ourselves in because of our gambling, and it takes just as long sometimes to get ourselves back where we want to be!!!!,we can't always get back everything that we would like wp,and accepting that is all a part of moving forward....,i know how much effort and determination you have shown over the last six months...i really believe that the rewards will be coming your way slowly but surely ,even if that means just having proper access to the bairn and a long and worthwhile role as a father with an amicable understanding with your ex!!!.Stay strong.

Seano.

Friends,i can see jasmine, jeff and seanos point of views..its difficult to find constructive things to post on a dailly basis...personally think these diaries have saved myself from further humiliation on the gambling front and for that i ll be forever grateful so for now i will defo continue on a regular basis even if my fish and chips is wrapped or unwrapped or wi salt and vinegar...in fact where im from its salt and sauce and nae mention of vinegar (its an east o Scotland thing lol) ..best wishes my friends difficult day yet again today relationship wise but today i did not bet tomorrow i wont bet,we can do this folks 😉

Salt and sauce wp! You will be telling us that you fry mars bars next!

Great to see you still going strong mate. I never find any of the diairies boring on here. I find i am able to learn lessons from the experiences of others.

I hope things pick up on the relationship front mate. Women hey. Can't live with them, can't live with them.

I had a call today from a guy called Brian who heads up the Brittle bone society. He asked me if i wanted to put a team in their charity golf day. A round of golf, 3 course meal and free drinks all for £50 per man.

I snapped his hand off.

You can have that one for free!

Take it easy pal.
