Mr Winningpost, it sounds to me that all your good work is slowly but surely sinking in to your ex. You are experiencing the results of your hard work. Can I ask you a question? You don't have to answer. Was gambling the main reason for your split from your Ex? If it was, and you prove that you are recovered/recovering then maybe there might be a route back (if thats what you want of course). I really do wish you all the best, as I've said before your support on here in invaluable to many. All the best

Russ

In response to your question....yes russ gambling was most prob 90% to blame for my relationship breakdown..although at the time i was always in denial with my blinkers on spending more time in betting shops, sneakily creepin into vacant rooms in house to phone my bets or days oot wi lads at races...she could see the damages coming (loan after loan) and i was oblivious to it all...thats why i tend to vent my frustrations at certain diaries who dont take this addiction seriously....ive lost a heluva lot and its not just monetary wise mate...who knows whats round the corner.maybe the damage was too severe but i can only change for the better..,anyways today i did not bet tomorrow i wont bet we can do this folks 🙂

Hi wp

glad to read that you have been busy living ! sounds like you had a canny weekend.

Glad the ex seems to be giving you less grief too. Hurrah!

Take care, and keep busy while on holiday! it could be a trigger!

Hi post,

Great to see that things are starting to take a turn for the better mate. Good luck with the ex. You have really played the situation with a straight bat mate and I don't think that you could do any more. Hopefully you will now reap the rewards of turning your life around. Well done mate.

Stay Strong

Steve

Winningpost. How are you getting on? Have you tidied that garden up. I'm about to pop out and do some 'pruning' in a second. Sure beats working out the odds on a particular event. Think I may cut the grass as well.....my life is just crazy at the moment! Hope all is good and that you are getting some time with the bairn.

Still going strong i see.Not that i would see anything else. There is always hope for your relationship kid and im sure your ex can see the changes in you. These things just take time. Not only were we compulsive gamblers m8 ,but we were also compulsive liars.Time is a great healer and time spent without gambling has got to be a better healer. All the best Jeff.

Hi wp,

hope you are well, and staying strong, both with the gambling, and other factors that are testing you right now.

Your continued help of others on here is very benevolent of you under the circumstances that surround you, and I want you to know that it is greatly appreciated .

There's been a post today about cg's possibly being selfish in recovery? As you might have guessed, i tend to say things as I find them! Therefore wanted to say how much I appreciate and am sure fellow posters feel the same. That you and the likes of Stumper, Graham etc. still continue to post on these forums, despite being well down the road to recovery.

All the best

Thanks for your post on my diary. Although think you are being very modest in saying you are not as far done the road to recovery as I might imagine. You are much further down it than me, and I appreciate how hard it has been for you in recent months.

Good point about there being many other diaries similar to yours, Stumper etc. And I will make a point of reading them. As you say often it is difficult to find such diaries as they are often "buried" in the forum. So many thanks for the "heads up".

All the best

Many thanks for your continued support....these diaries are greatly appreciated :-)....well its the middle saturday of my hols and the new season has just kicked off...i have soccer saturday on and must admit i find it " different " watching the scores with no coupons on so i have to address that over the next 10 months...im pleased to report no gamble though i do know where other posters are coming from in finding it difficult...i have spent most of the week with the kids and ex so ive not had much time to post...in fact i was left alone with the little one for a wee while this week whilst the ex and step kid went shopping....theyre even talking about a trip to the pictures and me babysitting which can only be positive :-)....there is also talk of a holiday in the next few weeks to which ive been invited....even though the ex would pay im pondering at the moment as im totally broke...i ll see what next week brings but things are certainly looking up :-)....it looks like stumper has had enough of the diaries and that is sad for me as hes played a massive part for me from my early recovery to the present day :-(.....but the diaries is all about time and posting on other diaries is voluntary (we must remember that ) and maybe the lad has admirably gone over the top in his efforts and needs a break.....anyways just updating im going back there shortly...today i did not bet tomorrow i wont bet we can do this folks 🙂
