Hi wp,i'm really sorry to read that you had a row yesterday after what has been a good two weeks of making progress with the family,i sincerely hope that the row hasn't put things back to square one!!.As to why you went straight to the bookie's,i reckon that's just a reflex action mate,in times like that it seems we take the least line of resistance, and want the comfort of familiar surroundings to bury our heads in the sand:)and if you think back then perhap's that would have been what you would have always done in the past, the main thing is that you "came to your senses" and got out of the place without doing your self any damage.Stay strong.

Seano.

good morning winning post and your honesty continues to be refreshing. I remember earlier in my diary entries mrchaser posted that "slips occurr, most of us do", and yes i did have a slip this month, similar to your experience of walking into a bookie at a time that i was down, but unfortunately i was unable to just walk out!!! maybe that was part of the overall recovery that you are on the path of!!! I hope that sunday is bright for you and your posts continue to be vitally important for inspiration for all!!!!

Hi Post,

Sorry to here that you've had a row, and like Seano said, I hope it doesn't take you back to square one. Well done on resisting the urge to gamble whilst in the bookies, that really must have took a hell of a lot of courage! Keep moving forward mate.

Stay Strong

Steve

Hi wp,

Sorry to read about you ending up inthe bookies after a row, but I'm pleased you resisted any temptation. Stay strong and keep resisting. Rows can put the mind into turmoil, and I agree with what Seano wrote.

Hopefully the issues leading to the row will get resolved quickly, or matters will dampen down anyway.

Thanks for the post on my diary - I shouldn't read too much into what I write- I am always confused nowadays, and seem to drift until something fires me up, and I then think the world is caving in.

Stay very strong, and enjoy the week ahead

Himmat

HI wp, It came as a bit of shock to hear that you had rowed with your ex and then headed to the bookies. Good for you that you resisted. You have gone through another test and passed. As for the ex, you are probably more aware than anybody on here of the time it takes to gain that trust back. Keep strong wp. Russ

Hi wp,

You really have been a revelation with all of your wonderful support on our diaries, now it's my turn!

Sorry to hear that you have had some problems with your family but a MASSIVE well done on resisting that temptation. It must have been so tempting to give in to that silly devil on your shoulder but you beat him! Now that's real progress for you!

Stay very strong, mate. It will all get sorted out soon.

Hello wp,

Thanks for your post on my diary, and your right that was a bit spooky earlier when you posted on Beezers diary that you would chase me up, and at the same time i was adding to my diary! Anyway thanks again for your support, and also sorry to hear about your family problems, and as other posters have said already a big thumbs up for not giving in to temptation.

All the best wp.

mrchaser.

wp,

Thanks for the post on my diary.

Reading yours, I agree with previous posters - in times of stress - we follow habits. This, for all of us previously, would have meant gambling. It did for you - BUT - to your eternal credit - you shook yourself up and left before doing any damage. I think that temptation will always be there for us and the secret to beating this is identifying the "triggers" that put gambling in our mind.

Well done mate on overcoming another challenge on this journey - all your fellow posters are well proud!! I hope things start to pick up again with the missus.

All the best

Hatch

Hi Win

Well done for not succumbing to the temptation but it did trigger a question with me. I assume as you went into the bookies that you have not self excluded. Would it not be prudent to do so?

hi wp, thanks for your post & support.

I have been in your shoes too, and found myself in places i shoudn't have been after fallouts with loved ones, and like you escaped without gambling.

don't be too hard on yourself - we are all human, and none of us is perfect.

Glad you made it through a stressful time, and escaped unscathed.

Hope things improve for you my friend,

Chin up, your still an inspiration to us all !!

all the best

tommi

Hi wp, sorry to hear that there was a fall out, but what a resounding victory you had. To walk into a bookmaker's in the frame of mind you must have been in, and to then regain your composure, and leave having not bet, is a MASSIVE achievement when you think about it.

You have come a long, long way down the road to have been able to do that, further, probably, than you actually appreciate. So, as I said, i'm sorry about the circumstances that brought the situation about, but congratulations on dealing with the aftermath as you did !!

Keep The Faith
