wp, thanks for your post on my diary. I agree with you that things have changed on the diaries front this week.... it can be tricky when some of your 'close' diaries depart.

Yours is one I look out for and I think you are doing really well. Every day without gambling is great, eh? Keep it up and best of strength to you. Your support to others is an inspiration.

Brian

Hi wp,

Interesting to read that you are still finding it a struggle at times as I was in the same situation around 10 days ago. But we came through those and used these diaries as a way of sharing our thoughts.

Well done us!

And let's keep it up. Together we WILL all win this very challenging battle. I feel that our battle is far harder than a Blackpool team beating Chelsea away but we CAN do this.

October (55 days to go) - not Autumn - great idea but I've had enough of name changes!

Hi wp, thanks for your post on my diary, always nice the hear from you.

sorry to read you found things a bit tough last week, and hope you are feeling stronger.

I worry a lot about whether i can do this after so many failed attempts, but unless i try, how will i know ??

as for the roulette thing in the pub, i certainly wouldn't class it as gambling, and agree with other guys who have posted, that your 250 + days are completely intact.

As you near 1000 entries on your diary, I salute you wp, and thank you for the support you have given to me, and many many others.

have a good week

tommi

Thanks beezer october tommi and 4d (stalwart ??? lol)....urges have died off now mainly due to having a little time with wee one but most of all keeping busy (working) or reading one or two diaries....it would be so easy to fall back on my old ways but reading one or two posts im convinced im not going to let that happen as some recently have started posting again having thought theyd cracked this after lengthy abstainence..,my ex still thinks i have my sneeky ways yet after telling her of many months of abstainence now ive been told ive basically got a lifetime to prove it..to an extent she could be right as im only a bet away from disaster....today i did not bet tomorrow i wont bet,we can do this folks 😉

Hi wp, nice to hear you spending a bit of time with the wee one. As for your ex, you and I know that trust is the key there. We have both abused that trust over the years and it's little wonder she feels the way she does. Please don't let this dishearten you too much, you know it's a long road and in time she will soften. Keep strong fella. Russ

Your ex is absolutely right to be worried about you slipping. In my case, I gambled for just over 30 years and it will be the same time before I can say that I am 99% cured.

Sad really but that's gambling life for you. What really matters is that we are all in a journey to recovery and we are all doing very well.

Stay very strong and get busy living!

Hi wp, being a travelling salesman I'm always looking for A place to nip to the loo! The change of name was due to evanru being my gambling log on name. I wanted it to reflect my real name. Hope all is well with you. Russ

Hi wp, thank you for your comments. Please dont worry about Linda, she is fine, but has too busy a social life at the moment! I am sure she will be back to regale us with her funny stories soon, the way she looks at things and the scrapes she gets into are hysterical. best wishes to you wp xxx

wp

Glad to see that things are still going well. As we all know, trust takes a lifetime to build and a moment to lose - and as gamblers we don't have a great track record "excuse the pun". However, you're showing day by day that you're determined to beat this - and you will - and as time goes by - trust WILL return.

All the best

Hatch
