Day 32 - 7/3/15

Thanks everyone - Lovely to have so much support.

Really pleased the OH didnt gamble yesterday its the first payday that he hasnt gambled in I dont know how long (seriously it as to be a couple of years at least - He did manage to stop for a few months before but other tham that the last 13 years of paydays have been pretty much the same!) Am hoping the reality of having a baby is hitting home and can be a big enough force to make this recovery last.

I am just concentrating on my recovery as that is the only thing I can control but am hoping the OH can get through this too so a new happier life can begin 🙂

Also this is the first time in a while that I still have money in my bank over a week after payday - already noticing the little differences

Keep going guys xxxxx

Day 33 - 8/3/15

Little annoyed the OH managed to gamble yesterday even though we have software on the PC it doesnt block facebook and he found a game on there where he can gamble for real 🙁 I dont know how much he spent but am disappointed as i really thought he was going to try harder. (However he is a lot worse than me to start with and has been doing it a lot longer so will probably be even harder for him to abstain)

Anyway thats my moan over - going to continue to think positive and look forward to my rewards for 'winning'

Have a great gamble free Sunday xxx

Just at salon booked in my manicure for Friday. (5 week reward) waiting for my massage (not a reward I bought a set of 3 a while ago). Still feeling ill wish this cold would just go now. Had some bad news my great aunt passed away this morning 🙁 however I am not going to go back to my 'crutch' and gamble - how would that even help! Had some good news too. HMRC sent a letter stating I overpaid tax 2014 so will be sending me a cheque for just under £500 which would be useful right about now. And I can be happy knowing I won't be wasting it this time. Keep going everyone xxx

Good afternoon everyone.

i am new to this but i quit gambling last night. i have probably spent the last 2 years squandering away my savings of the previous 2 years (around £2,500) and then gambled away another £2,000 of my own money and then another £2000 borrowed from credit cards , i had a big loss yesterday of around £300 on a bet and i am sick of the feeling of losing and the way it makes me feel depressed and upset, im sick of making excuses to my partner and our children

i am glad i have decided to do this i just need to take it one day at a time

Good luck Gower - this is a great way to start. I think you know when you are ready to give up and being at your lowest normally gets you there. I am only on day 34 but without the support on here I am sure i would have gambled everyone of those 34 days!

Day 3. Still going strong, havent gone 3 days without a bet in over 2 years and seeing my bank balance in the mornings still the same as the day before is making me so pleased.

saturday will be the big test for me as there is so much football on and ive spent every saturday for the last 2 years in front of the tv and on my phone checking for scores and updates . I will do this!!!
