Hi all,
Thought I’d start my own recovery diary. I’ve read through a few and they made the hairs on the back of my neck stick up, just reading the reality of gambling and the destruction is causes, the honestly from you, the highs and the lows.
Today I’m day 26 GF. The longest I’ve ever done. Feel so proud of that. It has also been 18 days since I came clean.
When I think about gambling now, or even see the word, it makes me so angry, but a different type of anger from when I was gambling. It has caused me so much debt, stress, upset, I lied everyday to my husband, I was deceitful, I didn’t even know who I was. I missed out on so much with my boys. I never thought I would ever become that person.
Today I’ve really had a lot of time to think as I’ve been home alone - I am so determined never to let my husband or boys down again, I will do this! I know I cannot turn back the clocks, and the only way is forward.
I’ve met some amazing people since joining here. Full of inspiration, help and advice. You’ve all been a part of helping me to stop, to gain control of my life again, so thank you.

Errrr, the ‘Be Gamble Aware’ advert just came on, the one with the woman on her phone not noticing anything around her….that was me, for so long, huge rush of guilt went through me ?
Day 27 today…
And my birthday - feeling a bit meh ? don’t know why? Don’t particularly like birthdays (I guess who does when you get older!) but makes me think about my life and the stuff that’s happened.
Had no urges so that’s a positive!
