I wanted to share something that made me chuckle this morning, should make me sad but it shows the knock on effect of addiction. Three months ago on first day of recovery, I hadn't done any ironing for probably two years. We have a long utility room the length of the house but it's a bit make shift. The washing in there spanned the whole room and was around 4 feet deep. Each time I couldn't find an item of clothing I would go and buy another one. Probably depression, laziness, can't be bothered attitude from being in action. So I decided to get all the washing and ironing up to date. It took two weeks, 8 hours per day. I found clothes I hadn't seen for years and soon started to total up the items. I ended up pairing 890 pairs of socks, 240 m and s t shirts, 180 golf tops, 25 pairs of golf thermals, 110 jumpers, 140 pairs of underwear and so on. What a waste of money but safe to say I've not bought a single item of clothing for three months and won't be for the next few years. It makes me laugh that I pretty much rotate the clothes over two week period so most of it will sit in drawers. Given some to charity. Just made me thought of another affect of gambling derailed in just for today about being a mental loafer and that goes for physical as well

Hi Stuart

This made me chuckle, all those socks lol, I think as previously said before, gambling takes all our time up which leaves us with no time to do anything else, as in the triangle of gambling to gamble we need time, money & access but I'm so thrilled you've shafted this story to us. I personally just try to buy clothes and bedding that don't need ironing lol, I absolutely detest ironing, I used to do it for a living but now I'm part time supermarket worker. You have done amazing to get to 3 months, massive huge well done Stuart !! Keep going 👏 👏 😊
