Sorry to hear that you relapsed. How did you manage to relapse? Is there anything you can change to stop the accessibility to gambling?

Keep updated on here. Good luck for this time round.

Hi Dith.

Pay day was always the one single most trigger that would start the ball rolling for me too! On many occasions, I would have spent almost all of my hard earned cash on gambling, within a few hours, leaving me the rest of the month to basically act like the person I never was. What a struggle that can be!

I think it's a good way to think that looking/waiting for pay day to arrive, is no big deal, other than we can then continue to pay our bills again and reduce our debt. I have now got the blocks in place again so my future pay days can remain "normal" and less stressful.

Take care and remain focussed and strong.

Hi Dith!

Did you really worry about the mountain of debt whilst you were gambling? I mean, really worry about it? I suspect not. None of us do. We are caught up in the escapism of gambling that is doesn't matter to us. Suddenly you are not going to take the escape route out from your problems (whatever they may be) so you have to grow up and face up to these things, and it's not at all easy. The same inability to grow-up and take responsibility that can lead us into gambling also manifests itself in wanting everything yesterday. It's a character trait that needs work to resolve. So, I definitely think counseling will be a positive for you, to help understand whatever problems led you to gambling and help you cope with the reality that gambling has left you with. Another possible avenue you can explore for yourself is mindfulness, have a search on Google for 'headspace' and see if you think you want to give it a try, to help calm yourself and restore some order in your life? Some people think it's mumbo-jumbo, other's swear by it. I'm kind of middle of the road, favouring the latter. Cheers, whatami.

Hello Dith.. The mighty Oak Tree starts from somewhere, so 16 days is 16 days and will only grow as you keep wracking them days up and springing branches.

By aknowledging (sp) that your powerless over this insiduos behavioural addiction is a fantastic spring board. Seems crazy hai having to admit that, but a good cornerstone none the less.

Albeit, a little hypocritical of myself but something i've learned about this BS is that despite having to face ' discovery ' by your self, you can't do it alone. Live your life but hold your hand out to all the helping avenues out there..

Strength and honor
