Day 691, not posted for nearly 3 months and today is not a significant milestone in that respect but today is my 32nd wedding anniversary and I'm so grateful for the support of my wife over nearly 2 years now. There have been many ups and downs along the way but we are still strong and I know without her I would not be where I am now.

Stay strong out there, you can do this!

As Charlieboy says today is indeed 2 years since I last gambled. I look back now and can't believe the person I turned into through gambling and how I feel now without this in my life

Onwards and upwards

Stay strong out there?

Hi

It is a indeed healthy 2 years since you last gambled.

At one time would have thought that was impossibe.

I look back now and understand how unhealthy and emotionally vulnerable I was.

We can all turn into healthy people with out our addictions and obsessions taking over our life.

Yes Onwards and upwards towards more ehalthy goals.

When I was filled with my pains and my fears I feared emotional intimacy and also feared being honest and being myself.

Love and peace to everyone

WELL DONE!

As we approach the end of the year I just want to say well done to everyone.

Well done to the people posting on here for the first time reaching out for help. Admitting you have a problem is a gigantic step.

Well done to the people struggling through the first few days trying to stay gamble free but getting through each day without gambling, these are probably the hardest but worth persevering.

Well done to everyone posting they are 1 week, 2 weeks etc gamble free, feel proud of yourself for making it this far.

Well done for all the people offering support through their own experiences. We are all in this together and how we support each other is amazing.

Well done to people sharing their success stories which give hope to the new members that there is a life after gambling.

Most of all well done to Gamcare and their brilliant support they give each and everyone of us. Without you where would we be.

For me today I am 933 days gamble free and know that without the help of everyone on here it would have been a lot harder to make it this far.

You may have seen the new years honours list today and I want to highlight a couple from Sheffield, Liz and Charles Ritchie for their efforts to stop people taking their lives because of this addiction. They set up a charity 4 years ago after their own son took his life due to gambling and have been awarded the MBE for their work to raise awareness of the harm gambling can do and try and change the law around how gambling is advertised.

Thanks for reading and I wish everyone a very happy gamble free new year
