Zoe that is wonderful of you to put a poem on my diary. Thank you for being such an awesome friend.

The news said we would be treated to a meteor storm tonight so am looking up at the sky but not seen anything yet.

Sunshine forecast for tomorrow so will put on my shades and shorts and have a walk to the marina and riverside.

Nite nite sweet dreams

Just enjoyed 15 minutes looking out from my 12th floor balcony but no sign of the meteor shower that had been forecast.

Lovely evening though with all the stars twinkling happily and a gentle breeze.

Wishing everyone on the diaries a peaceful nights sleep and a good day tomorrow.

Thank you Vinnie you are a real treasure and I appreciate your kind words of support.

I am enjoying a day of reflection and quietly celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.

These are strange times of uncertainty but one thing I do know with absolute certainty is that I will not gamble again and that is a promise.

I will miss the chatroom this evening as I am off for an evening stroll.

Hi Stephen

Thank you for posting lovely messages on my diary. Sorry I haven’t popped by in the last few days. Back at work this week and been so busy not had a chance to pop in lunchtime chat but have been in the evening but Vinnie told me you were going for a late night walk.

I was having a joke with Vinnie the other night and wrote a poem about myself for a giggle so decided I’d share it with you. It was written in humour so not as sincere as your poems but gave us a right giggle.

I once knew a lady who could bake,
her name was Becky and she loved her cake.
She was once thin but now she is large, so big in fact she wouldn’t fit in a barge.
That Becky should really eat less cake and exercise hard until her muscles ache.
If she decided to go to the gym,

then one day, she might actually be slim.

I hope you are well and enjoy your walk this evening. I hope to catch you in chat soon.

Your friend,

Lively

Thank you for that hilarious poem Lively. You have a great sense of humour and that is just what I needed to bring a smile to my face.

A beautiful day in sunny Hull but I am a little puzzled. Sunbathing on my 12th floor balcony earlier, I observed two men in full PPE gear enter the next block of flats! They were being filmed and alighted from unmarked vans.

Intrigue and mystery no less!

I dont have a television but was shocked to read on a friends diary that a lot of gambling adverts were being broadcast late in the evening.

It is heartbreaking to think of good people being drawn into a gambling cesspit of misery, shame and heartbreak through these disgusting adverts which paint a false picture and what is worse they get happy looking actors or even celebrities to endorse their filth.

These are difficult times and their actions are just destroying lives.

For friends on the diaries this a fight for survival against the scourge of gambling addiction.

We cannot let them beat us into the ground.

It has been a lovely sunny day and people were out and about getting some fresh air and having a bit of exercise.

I see no problem provided people are keeping a suitable distance from others.

Better that than people sat feeling sad, lonely and dejected or families arguing because they are cooped in confined living quarters.

Good old common sense is the order of the day.

Love and best wishes to everyone on the diaries.

We are all on a journey of recovery and we will reclaim our lives.

Admittedly mistakes were made in the past but now we have blocks in place to prevent us gambling.

GamCare Warriors & Warrioresses stand proudly side by side and we will not give in

Hi Stephen

Glad to see you in chat this evening and a little more chirpy. I just wanted to say you are doing amazing and I know you’re not a fan of the lockdown rules but I am looking at the positives in it and think it has been an opportunity for the likes of you and me to get a good amount of time under our belts so to speak gamble free. The fact we both chose to stop before it was put in place was even better as we consciously made that decision. I am so proud of how far you’ve come and so happy to be on this journey together. One thing I do know is despite the lock down, I have lived a more for filling four weeks then the past four years. I can account for nearly every minute of each day, I haven’t lost hours to nothingness and have a whole new perspective on life.      I’m sure the same thing applies to you, how many things have you noticed on your walks down the river that you’d never noticed before? This is our opportunity to from hereon-in live life to the fullest and make up for lost time.

I saw a quote earlier which I really liked and feel is fitting:

Success depends on your attitude;

happiness depends on your gratitude.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday.

Your friend,

Lively x

Thank you Lively for those kind words on my diary. I very much like the quote you uncluded:

Success depends on your attitude.

Happiness depends in your gratitude.

The more I read those two lines, the more it makes me think of what is success and happiness and how does it apply to me!

Today is nearly over and it has been enjoyable. I have eaten well, exercised to music, interacted with friends from a distance, had a read and relaxed.

The day has presented me with no worries and so feel relaxed, contented and at peace with myself.

Also very grateful that I have a roof over my head, plenty of food plus wonderful friends and acquaintances who support, advise and encourage me.

So I can say with all honesty that today has been a great success and I am happy.

Love and best wishes to all on the diaries

Hi Stephen

I hope you’ve had a good day. Sorry I missed you in chat this evening but as you already know I was very busy practising for Masterchef with my culinary skills. ? Followed by my ‘how much can I eat skills’ ?.

I just came across this quote whilst browsing and it reminded me of your so thought I would share it with you.

‘Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully. And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on their way.’

I wish you sweet dreams and hope to catch you in chat tomorrow.

Your friend,

Lively x
