Just going to do a small update as i have not placed anything on the forum for a short while now and feel an update is needed.
I was one of those people that was always pessimistic when it came to the what i can achieve for myself. I had a bad addiction to gambling roughly from the age of 20, i never thought much of it at the beginning i was just having fun.
It was only when i realised that i had no money and that i was no longer enjoying my time that i thought that there may be a problem but still could not admit to it. I pushed it to the side thinking i could handle it all by myself and i did not need any help. After several failed attempts at stopping gambling over a 8 year period i did not know what to do. I felt trapped and alone in my own world thinking no one would understand what was happening. But then came the day that i changed forever the 17/12/2017.
Me of all people was able to hold my addiction accountable for all the S*** i had done and put my family through. I was able to admit to myself and my family that i had a problem and i needed help. It did not stop there. I got involved in everything i could to ensure i would no longer think of gambling in the way i had previous. I now even produce small videos on youtube as a way to express myself and keep myself motivated and possibly help others.
I tell you all this as i never thought for 1 second that i would be able to beat my demons and recover from the terrible addiction we see ourselves in. The most important thing you need to remember is to have your barriers in place, stay honest and take it 1 day at a time.
