It's only been less than 2 weeks since my last bet but already I feel a tremendous difference. I have decided to call any extra cash that comes my way (by this I mean tips I get at work) as my non-gambling "winnings". As long as I don't throw it away gambling I feel it is money I have 'won'. Today I went and bought 4 shirts. It felt so good to do something positive with money rather than negative. I am determined to move forward with my goal of going 1 year gamble free. Only 11 1/2 months to go. Each day, as long as I don't make that first bet, I am safe.

Hi

Any clean time off gambling is a healthy day to celebrate.

Your tips are money that you have earned and worked for.

It is often a healthy thing to reward our self once we gain certain clean time.

You went and bought 4 shirts that is treating your self in a healthy way.

It is healthy and felt when I used our funds to treat our self to nice things and also have holidays.

We were able to pay debts of then plan to have a lot of holidays France Las Vegas Tenerife Holland Disney New York, Hollywood, Victoria Island, when we food we enjoyed it so much we went back again and again.

It made up for all the times I had cheated myself and my family for so long.

My addictions were a form of self abuse, it took time to treat myself and others in healthier ways.

I tend to do something healthy or positive with money, the changes in my choices made a big difference to my life.

It is healthy to move forward and let go of our unhealthy past.

Every day with out gambling I am a winner and can not lose.

Just for today I will not gamble, Just for today I will be the healthier person I can be today.

My life today healing my pains is wonderful.

My life today facing my fears is wonderful and very much healthier.

My life today reducing my unreasonable expectations is wonderful and less painful.

Love and peace to every one.

Well done! And yes 11.5 months is achievable. Good idea to treat yourself along the way. Think of how much you can buy with the extra money earnt.  Rather than throwing it into a slot machine and chasing own money back days after ....like I used to do and alot of us do. I think you should have a little treat. It helps. Be kind to yourself and once you've distanced yourself from gambling for a week or two it definitely gets easier. It took about 2 weeks and the urges went for me. I know everyone is different though in that respect. There was a time when I said I couldn't stop.....i don't know how to. Now I say that everyone can stop .....with a little help and mesaures in place for prevention..Don't stop the little treats. It will keep you motivated.
